FMG repair Barnstaple

I left my car with the Barnstaple branch the service was professional and friendly Jayne kept in touch via text with all the repair updates on my car I got given a lovey hire car then when my car was ready returned it. My car came bk just like new like it had never been in an accident at all. Highly recommend.

A terrible experience - avoid avoid avoid

A terrible experience. I have a claim with tesco insurance they are meant to be managing. My car is at an MG dealer in reading and needs to be towed to FMG Slough. I have been chasing them for over a week to resolve this.
The MG dealer agreed a fee with FMG last week for diagnostic checks. FMG rang the dealer and agreed this fee with them. FMG have not paid the dealer. They don't respond to phone messages, complaints or e mails - they are a truly terrible company - avoid if you can

Repairer chosen by insurer

Repairer chosen by insurer. Rough estimate for repair of eleven working days but it was a lot fewer.
Car collected on a low loader by Dave (Grantham branch) who was very friendly and efficient. Excellent communication all along by FMG. Car returned after repair looking as good as new. I can't review Grantham specifically as this website doesn't work.

Quick service great quality of repair and excellent communication. A new car was provided for me whilst my car was off the road. Jade was very friendly and provided excellent updates and car was ready before it should have been.

Poor communication, misinformation and no transparency

My experience with FMG was unacceptable.
My car was collected on 15 December and I was clearly told it would be repaired and returned that same week. This turned out to be untrue — the vehicle wasn’t even booked in until 30 December. Repeated calls went unanswered and there was no proactive communication.
Hire car arrangements were mishandled and delayed, and when a vehicle finally arrived it was unsuitable for my clearly stated needs.
The most serious issue was being told to pay £550 to release my car while FMG refused to provide a full itemised breakdown of the work or parts used. I was given conflicting information and expected to pay without transparency.
This caused significant stress and disruption over Christmas. I would not recommend FMG.

Update: absolutely no progress. They say they are dealing with my complaint but so far they are still holding my car and refusing to share what work has been carried out. I really dont know how to move this forward. It seems like they simply dont have the resource or morals to resolve this issue. I think I either pay their unlawful charges or they keep my car.

Great repair after an accident.

FMG Hull repaired my car after an accident. I cannot fault this company. From me taking my car for an initial inspection all the staff were friendly. Once my car had been picked up and taken in the garage for my repair I was fully updated every few days by text. Once my car was fully repaired I was called earlier than expected and my car was dropped off by a friendly member of staff. I inspected my car before he left and haven’t found any fault or issues. I would definitely recommend FMG Hull for any repairs.

DO NOT USE

DO NOT USE! Awful garage! DO NOT USE. They had our car for an accident repair. Our car came back with a "restraint system malfunction" warning that it did not have when they collected our car for repair. When we spoke to the garage, we spoke to Sam, he was no help whatsoever. Refused to do anything about it, wouldn't even scan it for faults to check, he just argued with us. Terrible customer service, please do not use!!!

Thank you FMG Grantham

My car went into the Grantham branch for repair after having it's front slightly rearranged in a collision.
The service was excellent, they contacted me within minutes of my claim being registered and arranged for my car to be picked up a couple of hours later. The communication was brilliant, both through the app and by phone. I have to commend Jade, for her helpfulness, cheerfulness and the way she represents FMG.
My car was initially planned to be ready on the 2nd of January, but they managed to get it done by the 23rd of December which is making our Christmas so much easier.
The work was done to an extremely high standard , and the car was returned to us in cleaner state than it's been for years.
I cannot recommend FMG highly enough!

I am sure you have a good reputation as…

I am sure you have a good reputation as car repairers, but one of your staff (ginger hair) driving a white van on wednesday 23/12/25 in tesco car park at about 3.30 . was very rude to my wife ,age 78 , he parked so close to her car that she could not get into her car. The young man then argued with her and he would not move his van, he suggested she should have looked for another place when she got to Tesco. He spoke to her in a derogatory manner. Please have a word with him as it does not do your image any good,

Excellent service

Regular texts updating me on the status of repair. Repairs completed one day ahead of estimation. Car was cleaned ahead of collection. Space available in car park to leave courtesy car for hire collection.
Paperwork took less than 5 minutes to complete. Excellent customer service.

Great work by FMG Hull

FMG Hull - Had a minor no fault accident. Some cosmetic issues to car but also some issues with steering. Originally I was meant to drop my car off but when I had problems with the steering they quickly changed the booking to collect the car. They collected it on the 4th, FMG kept me updated, and dropped it off again on the 11th looking brand new and driving perfectly!

Can't fault them.

Superb service.

I had my car repaired at FMG Formby branch.
I dealt with two people, Jed and Sophie.
I was explained how everything would proceed, from car collection to drop off.
The car was delivered a day early, clean and repaired.
I know there is a team of people who dealt with the repair but please thank the above two for the courteousness and professional manner that was shown to me during the process.

Really poor from the Gloucester branch

Really poor from the Gloucester branch. I've had to reject our car twice when they've tried to return it. Initially they neglected to repair the alloy wheel which was damaged and the second time the external door trim was coming away from the door, which they commented that they'd order the "proper" fixing tape this time.

Their communication is poor, the car was returned with a half hearted attempt at being cleaned internally (dust all over inside of windows), and between them and the third parties insurance company (footing the bill), we were close to being left without any replacement vehicle because of their poor communication.

This company were excellent from start…

This company were excellent from start to finish, I used their services in Hull.
Communication was excellent, telling me at different stages where the car was at during the repair process. My car was also collected and redelivered back to the house with excellent customer service.

My car went in after having a small accident. FMG DUNDEE
They communicated every step of the way, had the car for just under 4 weeks. Work was done in an efficient manner. Very helpful and polite over the phone. Customer service and work done on the car is 10/10! Would definitely recommend them.
