Focus 2d designer review

I contacted Dave to discuss the focus 2d designer software. He was very enthusiastic and helpful and even wrote a tutorial specifically for the task I had in mind. I took the trial and was delighted with how easy it was for my students to get going. It is cloud based and therefore can be used in school or at home easily. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone considering a cloud based option (chrome book friendly). I download the dxf files easily to our laser printer. Couldn’t be happier.
The additional content such as joints or plastic processes we had on a CD-ROM years ago are a useful bonus too, great for cover lesson research

A tried and trusted reliable platform

A tried and trusted platform that has been there for teachers for many years, but also a platform that has evolved with the subject. It was always good for materials and mechanisms but now it covers much of the theory for GCSE and included as great alternative to 2D Design software.

Absolutely brilliant suite of software

Absolutely brilliant suite of software. I have used this in school since it very first came out and have never looked back. All of the Required Practicals for all UK Exam boards are here as well as a huge wealth of animated simulations of experiments and animated diagrams of hard to describe parts of the KS3, GCSE and A level curricula. It is perfect to use as a demo with a whole class and also for individuals to carry out research or conduct experiments and investigations themselves. Results of experiments are randomised to simulate real life and taking repeats is a valuable exercise. If you are a science teacher and you are not using this, your kids are missing out!
