Amusing story leaving a lingering smile. Venetia is a clever and witty heroine. Some of the antiquated slang terms such as foxed for inebriated slightly detract from but don't spoil the pleasure of reading.

Beautiful hardbound books by my favourite author. A century after first published. Too good to let anyone else read! Brings back the excitement of finding old books in secondhand bookshops. But these are new.

The first look shows that great care has been taken to make the outside cover a perfect introduction to the story inside. The illustration shows the period in the elegantly dressed lady, even the idea of an unfinished sketch gives it a feeling of leaving us to complete the sketch as we read on. Beautifully bound book and coloured illustrations inside give a momentum as you discover the story. The print size is perfect. I have some vision loss but it’s so clearly spaced and font size just right for those with perfect vision too. I love the feel of the book and the way it easily lays open. I can really recommend all the books in this series.

My wife has read every book by Georgette Heyer, and more than once. She was delighted to find that Folio were bringing out these editions. She already had Arabella and Frederica. Venetia was her Christmas present, and it went down a treat. She loves the whole presentation, in particular the size of the typeface. If you are planning to bring out, over time, all the remaining volumes, you have at least one customer who will buy the whole lot.

A lovely book with nice illustrations. I love Heyer's books- Regency and mystery- and have been glad to see Folio issuing some. They are a little pricey for me to get them all, but Venetia is one of my favorites and this is a lovely copy.
