Not recommended…

So I made a mistake in the delivery address. The driver had issues finding the address i gave but never called. I got notification that the food was delivered so i went next door to pick it up but there was nothing…no food. If he would have called, i would have received my food. Foodora customer seevice refused to talk about the issue. They just said sorry, no refunds in this case. Eventually they stopped responding. I say there are many fine services for food delivery. Use them, not foodora. At least the others will communicate if they can’t find your location.

PLEASE DO NOT TIP FOODORA COURIERS in…

PLEASE DO NOT TIP FOODORA COURIERS in Ottawa in the app. All tips go for the company. Couriers are paid hourly, 16$ per hour. there is a formula for calculating the wage: 4.5$ per delivery + 80cents for every kilometer distance from the restaurant to customer + tips.
if the couriers earning based on this formula become more than 16$ per hour in the whole week, then they can have their tips but the funny thing is here: Couriers in their busiest days when orders stream never stop), can not even get close to 16$ per hour based on this formula even in one day in Ottawa which means the tips are for the company and you are tipping the company.
DO NOT DO THAT PLEASE.

Please tell this to everyone.

Unreliable courier and ETA

Unreliable courier and ETA. Please don't waste your time using Foodora.

Experience 1
I pre-ordered food for 11:45 am. ETA was 12:00 pm. ETA changed to 12:15 pm. Courier arrived at 1:15 pm.
I called the restaurant and asked when the food was ready and when the courier picked it up. Food was ready at 11:18 am and the courier picked it up 10 minutes after. The distance between the restaurant and the delivery location by bicycle? 10 minutes. How did the courier take 2 hours to deliver that food?

If you're wondering why the standard of…

If you're wondering why the standard of service has gone so rapidly downhill lately, it might be because Foodora is spending all its money on expensive douche corporate lawyers from Dentons to Phillibuster the delivery riders' attempts to unionise, instead of spending it on improving the algorithm or the customer service.

Alas the way Foodora now treats its customers is the way its been treating its riders for months. Yesterday (Friday) I ordered two basic Greek meals and was given an ETA of 38 minutes at 3:15pm. We didn't see the food until almost 5pm, and during that time the delivery time rose and fell like the tide, dropping to 38 minutes then rising again to over 60! It was rice, potatoes, salad, spanakopita and fried calamari. Only the latter gets cooked at the time and all else is prepped in advance...so why did it take around 1 hour 20 minutes to get delivered by car when the restaurant is only 19 minutes away?

If this kind of experience was a rarity then I'd be less damning, but the fact is that this isn't the first time we've had issues with Foodora. In the past I've waited 45 minutes late at night until all the restaurants are closed and I can't order from anywhere else, only to be told the food order I've waited almost an hour for has now been cancelled - with no explanation, apology, or compensation offered!

As a courier I've experienced Foodora as an employee too, and after two years of sub-standard experiences I now tend to ride for UberEats more.

Atrocious customer service, a once-great business spiraling down the toilet.

This pains me! I never write customer reviews but my experiences with Foodora over the past couple of months have been so bad that I had to say something.

A few weeks ago I ordered from a restaurant. Although the restaurant had the food ready within twenty minutes, it took the driver forty to pick it up. The driver took another forty minutes to drive to my neighborhood. I saw that he was nearby so I went outside to wait for him on the curb, but the driver never showed up. I watched on the map as he pulled over about two minutes away from my building, and even though he hadn't made the delivery yet, he still marked it as completed. My order disappeared. I was flabbergasted, because he was so close to me, like two minutes away, and he still didn't complete the delivery. I didn't eat dinner till after 10 pm. OK - shet happens, but the worst part is that it took Foodora hours to get back to me because they no longer have a customer service line - and I only got a ten dollar voucher for my trouble. I wound up feeling like a dumbass for trying to order delivery instead of just cooking for myself, or getting take-out.

Flash forward to last night, when my roommate ordered fried chicken through Foodora. We ordered at 7:12 with a 38 minute ETA. At 7:50, the ETA still said 38 minutes. The restaurant closes at 8:00. Since I know the restaurant only takes about 2 minutes to assemble each order, this didn't seem right. So my roommate contacted Foodora customer service to explain the situation. The agent seemed to do nothing at all, and simply re-stated the ETA of 38 minutes. At about 8:25, the ETA went up to 39 minutes - one full hour after we ordered! So my roommate contacted Foodora a second time, and the agent simply gave her the restaurant's phone number and asked her to figure it out herself. So she called the restaurant, and they said they had the order ready at 7:15, minutes after it was placed, but nobody had showed up - they were waiting around for the driver after closing hours! So my roommate relayed that to Foodora, and at long last we were assigned a driver. They picked up the food and brought it to our place at around 9:30. Great - cold, soggy, 2-hour old fried chicken. Foodora agreed to refund the meal, but offered no explanation, and seemed to have no interest in keeping a frequent customer.

This company used to have dominance in the Toronto food delivery game. I had friends that enjoyed working for them, and most people I know enjoyed ordering Foodora. What Foodora offered over other delivery services in the game, like UberEats and Skip, was multifold: better customer service, more employee support, better selection of restaurants, and better prices. All that has gone out the window in just a few months.

I don't know what happened. Maybe they spent too much cash trying to compete with UberEats in other areas instead of just locking down the areas where Foodora was strongest. Maybe some people at the top just got greedy, or lazy, or egomaniacal. But they started stiffing their employees wages, and lost a lot of staff, and therefore revenue. Then they sacked their customer service department and took down their support phone line. And now prices are going up, service has gone downhill, and twice in a month they've failed to fulfill a delivery downtown in a city dominated by couriers. They aren't good to their staff, they aren't good to their customers, and they aren't even good to the restaurants. Stay away from Foodora.

P.S. I've worked in food service, at a restaurant that had Foodora, and the app for restaurants is a nightmare and has always been terrible. It's annoying, clunky, loud, and difficult to use. I always figured they would improve the system over time but that never happened and now it's a joke for customers, too. Just a bad business, through and through.

$5 or $12 vouchers do not make up for…

$5 or $12 vouchers do not make up for wrong or ruined orders!
I have had too many ruined meals from you be it due to very long delays, incorrect orders, missing items or just plain ice cold food when it should be warm food. You need to make it right when you mess up someone's meal. Even if you have no control over the QA of the restaurant you are delivering for, in the end, it is your responsibility.
Sorry Fodora, you suck!

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service

The customer service for Foodora is atrocious. You have been warned.

I messaged a customer service agent just now to ask if my order really was received as it was still showing the default status message from when I placed the order 2 hours ago, but was due to be delivered in less than an hour (and the restaurant in question generally takes an hour for preparation and delivery).

The customer service agent in question, named Ally, sent me prepared templates that did not answer my question (I don't think she even read what I said) and kept trying to dismiss me. (After every template she would say "Is there anything else I can help you with?" as though her template should have resolved my problem without further response from me.)

I clarified on my question to tell her that I wanted to make sure the restaurant had actually received my order and would be able to make the 12 noon deadline, considering it still hadn't updated the status.  She responded by sending me a template apologizing for the order being late.

When I pointed out that it wasn't even 12 noon yet and this did not address my concern, she DID dismiss me by just ending the conversation herself and leaving chat. Amazing. In terms of a phone conversation, she basically hung up on me.

It makes me rather worried about continuing to use Foodora.  If this is the type of support I get for this sort of question, then what kind of support can I expect for something more serious?

I took screenshots of the chat conversation and sent them to foodora's email to see if they will actually do anything about it. Will update this review if they do.

** Update: I received a reply email from... guess who? Allyson. Apparently they have just the one person as their customer service? Otherwise they apparently felt it appropriate that the person about whom the complaint was made should be the one to answer the email. Again with a template that didn't address my email.

If I could give 0 star I would. This company is totally scammer. We are resturant partner. they had taken our food for two month, we never get deposit, the sale person disappeared after we signed contract,. This company even does not have contact phone number, I emailed them for one month no reply. Foodora is a thief. They only take your money away.this is worst company I ever seen. Do not do anything with them.

The worst delivery company

The worst delivery company, if you drive a car you would make max $12 an hours. Customers order 10 foods without tips and Foodara expect you to stay in restaurant sometimes even one hour without paying for time and all is just taking advantage. Its a good chance for kids who ride a bicycle but not a person with car which is crazy idea

Foodora's just a bad app

Foodora and all others like them are just an app. So there's no excuse for why the app can't achieve the simple task of estimating delivery time by taking all the factors into account,
So don't tell me my order's going to take 40 minutes and then follow up 5 minutes later and tell me there's been a "delay" and then arrive over an hour later and blame the restaurant or the driver.
But their most stupid piece of app coding came to light when I inadvertently ordered from a restaurant that was closed, but rather simply than telling me that the app rescheduled my curry to be delivered for breakfast when the restaurant reopened the next day.

Foodora - Requested Picture of Government ID to re-active.

I have ordered food via Foodora around 6 times and have had no major complaint. The one item that was annoying on 1 of those 6 is that a pizza was laid on it's side and by the time i got it, all of the dressing slid off entirely to one side inside the box.

However, I placed an order on January 31, 2018, and I could not proceed as it gave an error "check credit card data". I've deleted the credit card and tried again with the same error. I tried the 2nd card with the same results.

I ordered via Just-Eat instead.

February 1, 2018, i decided to submit a support request to them on the incident. My account was locked for some reason and the only way they would unlock it is if I took a picture of my Government ID and Credit Card and provide it to them. I provided the details in written format, however that did not suffice for them, so ultimately because I am not going to take a picture of a Government approved ID, they stated: "Unfortunately, our hands are tied until you send us valid, government-issued identification."

It is the responsibility of the Credit Card company to flag something as fraud when it comes to purchases, not the business. If something was flagged you can call the card company and they will approve it.

Sorry, not comfortable sending pictures of my ID to people or companies. And because I am, I can no longer use their services.

Don't waste your time and money

Orders are usually not followed and customer service sucks. They really just want to grab your money and if you are unhappy they don't really care to remedy issues.
