Warning about Fora Credit
Update #2 – October 17, 2025:
My account with Fora Credit has now been officially confirmed as paid in full and permanently closed, following several days of communication delays, failed payment portal attempts, and regulatory filings.
While the matter is resolved, I note that it required escalation to multiple oversight bodies before consistent support and closure were achieved. The difference in tone and professionalism between early responses and the final resolution was noticeable, suggesting internal escalation and possible compliance review.
I’m satisfied to have the account settled but remain concerned about Fora’s limited payment methods, lack of transparent contact options, and portal reliability. I’ve requested that regulators consider a procedural audit to help prevent similar consumer challenges in the future.
I appreciate that the closure was ultimately handled correctly and hope Fora recognizes the value of proactive customer care and clearer financial accountability.
Update – October 17, 2025: My Fora Credit account has now been paid in full. However, it took over a week of repeated attempts, multiple escalations, and help from both banks to process what should have been a straightforward payment. My experience remains the same regarding their system failures and lack of communication.
I became a Fora Credit customer in July 2025 through Borrowell. My first line of credit was fine, but my latest experience has been awful. Since October 9 I have tried repeatedly to pay off my $2 000 balance, yet their payment portal keeps failing — even though both Tangerine and Simpli Financial confirmed the problem isn’t my bank.
When I said I did not want them to withdraw the full amount by PAD, Fora amended my account anyway without consent and then stopped replying. Their only “helpful” advice was to clear my cache and try again while interest keeps building.
I’ve reported this to Consumer Protection Ontario, the Ombudsman, the BBB, and Borrowell. Most banks don’t even list Fora as a registered payee — leaving customers trapped between a broken portal and forced PAD withdrawals. Consumers deserve better than this.
