Great item and was fast delivery

Great item and was fast delivery. Excellent, polite customer service.

When I had a query about my order, they quickly and in detail explained the situation. Very pleased with their answer and their response!

Honour your preorders please!!!!!!!!!!

They need to honour their preordered books. I feel like I'm always at the bottom of the list even after my books have arrived. It seems they send books which are supposed to come to me to other customers. Then there's a generic msg on my order which says sorry its running late when I know for a fact they had the books sent them out and didn't give me what I wanted. There's no personal customer service. They leave me in the dark wondering if I'm ever gonna get the books. I'd accept if they just told me the truth. They always make me feel like I'm at the bottom of their list and if the books get sent out I have to wait for the re-stock. And it's always me. The thing is if they were honest I could cancel the order go elsewhere before the books sell out. Then I'm forced to pay excorbarant prices on main sites like Ebay etc. Totally wasting my time and money which is tight nowadays anyway. Is this fair ? Is this good business practice ? No because they make me feel like a second class citizen. It's bad enough that I've bought thousands of books from them and even after all that to them as a customer I'm worthless. Unbelievable!!! That's the problem when u deal with large organisations such as themselves. On top of all that I have to travel miles because I don't have a local comic shop near me so I'm forced to order online. I neither have the time or money to waste on fuel just to get the books I'm after and even then it's a gamble whether or not the shops gonna have the books I want. I just can't catch a break. The thing about telling the truth is if nothing else a bit of peace of mind. And options before certain books skyrocket. Absolutely shameless business practice. I know the current situation with regards to delivery times for books being delayed. But when I see the word "re-stock" honestly it makes my blood boil.

Absolute mess

Ordered in the past with no issues. This year though, I received the wrong item not once, but twice. I've had to return each time and wait too long for another to arrive. Then the right one arrives damaged and they tell me I can only return for a refund as they are now out of stock.

Shocking mess and shocking service. Long term customer lost.

Happy customer!

To help balance out the reviews a little…
Placed my order on Thursday 28th Nov, despatched on Friday 29th, received today Tuesday 3rd December. Item is as described and better quality than one I’d ordered from Warner Bros (via Amazon) last week. Very happy, thank you!

Not worth the headache, they don't care about customer satisfaction!

I'm so done. Another order received and yet again... Damaged books!

3 pages torn on a comic that cost £5.99. Another comic just under £9 with spine roll and corner crunch!

They would accept a return no doubt, but no guarantee of actually receiving a replacement!

I'll take the loss AGAIN... And take my business elsewhere!

A return costs me money on printer ink, tape, petrol and my time!

Books should never be sent out in the condition Forbidden Planet allows. No other comic vendor/retailer allows it and you're one of the biggest in the UK!

Not the cheapest either, there is a few independent stores selling through a well known auction site that are cheaper (and come bagged and boarded), don't send damaged books and have better packaging!

I've only been getting books they haven't got from Forbidden Planet due to damages constantly but I'd rather miss out on these books than go through the headache of paying good money for VF damaged books that aren't "acceptable manufacturing flaws" I expect NM or better not VF.

If you place 2 orders of.. lets say 5 books per order, you're paying £5.99 shipping per order and they may ship all 10 together, so you've heavily overpaid for shipping (you will get refunded if you reach out, but should automatically be done in situations like this. I previously mentioned this) shipping process has improved slightly by allowing 2 NCBD orders with the same shipping date. Still could be improved.

Packaging could be better, so books aren't sloshing around in the mailer, possibly resulting in unnecessary damages.

I like the site and how it's laid out, easy to search and pick your books. Good selection and have books from small publisher's that most LCS won't order. (But I'd rather miss out on any book than receive damaged items)

Unfortunately for you, you've lost another customer, complaining about the same thing as others!

Edit: And again, another Brand new Pre-ordered book released on 06/11/24 arriving with 7 colour breaking spine tics and a bend.

Slow delivery, damaged books.

Never in any great hurry to post even items that they claim are in stock, but more annoyingly the last three trades I’ve bought from them have been damaged. I’m starting to suspect their mail order service is used to get rid of books that they cannot sell in their stores. There are plenty of better options to buy from.

Not impressed, no response

Pre ordered an item, didn’t dispatch on time, charged the card and charged £5.99 delivery for 2nd class postage! I emailed to say it hasn’t been dispatched please refund me, as I begrudge the huge delivery charge and that was ignored and I got a dispatch notification so they couldn’t refund me! No response though other than that. Still don’t have the item but a partial postage refund would be appreciated if this is even read.

Fine, but slow

I ordered a book that I couldn't find in any of my local bookshops. The packaging was somewhat haphazard, but sufficient that the book arrived unharmed.

The processing of my order was very slow. I am usually the last person to complain about this, not every company is Amazon (nor should they be). But even I struggle to see how it takes 8 days (3 days of "processing" + 5 days for shipping) to get a single in-stock book from London to Edinburgh. I paid for tracked second-class postage but didn't get a "we have your parcel" email from Royal Mail until 4 days after the order was supposedly despatched. Not the best impression.

Simply a terrible online experience

No massive chain of shops in 2024 should be shipping out comics almost a week after ordering them. On top of this, they're all new comics, they should be the most accessible to ship out. Even small independents can ship out same day/next day.

They also don't take payment upfront which can be a bit of a nightmare by itself when moving money about.

Shouldn't be too hard to ship out 5 comics, but clearly, it is.

Comics Disappointment Ordering Online

Got a fantastic range of comics online, purchased five new comics online one at £45 as a variant all turned up with spine creases galore, some were bagged together as three in one bag with no boarding. Such a shame why has this gone so downhill? rest assured sent them back and they did give a refund but very disappointed it’s like a lottery to get a new comic in tact online from Forbidden planet these days :(
