For Days/Trashie.io is borderline a scam. You pay to order bags to send in your old clothes to be recycled. Good luck trying to get a mailing label that works when you scan the QR code on your bag. Then you get credits for certain retailers (most of which I've never even heard of) but they're only good for like $10 off of a $100 order and cannot be combined. It's a cool concept, but I feel like I wasted $60 on 3 bags and am never going to get a fraction of that value back. Better to find a local place to donate my goods and avoid this hassle!
Update: customer service takes weeks to resolve mailing label issues. They’ll respond with a link that doesn’t work. Then send weird generic replies. They don’t seem to be able to track one issue through to resolution.

I ordered a Take Back bag back in the beginning of March. I was super excited about the idea of recycling my unusable clothes. Unfortunately, I haven’t received the bag that I ordered. I checked all of my emails and there is no proof of purchase. No email confirmation of my order. No tracking. Nothing. I do have a $23 charge for a Take Back bag on my March bank statement however. I’m just gonna take the loss and throw away the clothes that I’ve been saving for months. It doesn’t appear that they actually recycle them anyways.

Pilar is an angel of customer service help and I recommend they give her an equity increase (aka RAISE) for her diligence, concern, & problem solving. I had a shipment never arrive that was marked as delivered & she stuck with me over time & a trip out of town to make sure I received my items.
The shift to Trashie.cash & restrictions of closet cash accrual is a terrible direction for their company. I quickly used my Closet Cash before the switch but this change is poorly conceived, if motivation/reward is their aim. I hope they rectify before losing the great original concept of this company.

I want to support this company but they’re losing me - cashed in some credits for blankets which were supposed to take 3 weeks due to custom manufacturing. I waited over a month and they sent me a tracking number, that never progressed beyond “waiting for package” and felt like they’d only sent me the tracking as a decoy. Confirmed weeks later when I asked why the tracking was still waiting for the package, and they said the manufacturer has a material back order and will make the blankets soon. And apparently they’re being made in Lithuania so hello extra carbon for shipping. Next week it will have been 3 months since I ordered, and I can’t decide whether I’m more likely to win the lottery or receive these blankets before next winter.

I needed to return a shoe that didn’t fit. For Days assisted me in a timely manner and continued to follow up until my monies were returned. I appreciated their attention and care!

While the service to receive the bags, fill them, and ship was easy, the other side of the rewards was not.
The company deceived by advertising "closet Cash" to be used in their online stores, but neglected to have any warning that they would cap my money accrued to $20 per order. In order to use it, I would pay more of my own money when I have over $160 in closet Cash to use, and then create multiple shipping costs and containers contributing to even greater waste.
Deceptive business practices, lack of communication, and lack of resolution made this an easy recommendation to stay away.
UPDATE: emailed now for 50% redemption because they knew they did not advertise that up front. 100% as advertised. Do better.

I accidently made a purchase that I didn't intend to. I emailed the company right away. I did get a response, but not before the item was prepared for shipping. My contact at the company was very helpful in issuing me a return shipping label and walking me through the return process to get a full refund. Thank you!

I used to love this product and recommended it to friends and family. Now I am embarrassed I did so. I had saved up nearly $700 in closet cash using Take Bag bags for a large jewelry purchase through for days which is where take bag bags started. They then transferred this to a platform called Trashie and then suddenly you could only use your closet cash in increments of $20 at a time. This change happened with barely any notice during the busy holiday shopping season so the one email they sent out about this was buried and I was now unable to use this balance. I probably never will be able to even though I paid for every single take back bag. Their new system lets you only use increments of $20 or offers "rewards" for random brands all in increments no more than $25 (usually $15). The best options for "rewards" sell out and you can't get one. They call these rewards "gift cards" but their use is SO restricted I don't understand how they can even be called a gift card (think must be used within 30 days, not valid on discounted or items or able to be used with any other promo etc.). Other than that, its coupons you can get from brands by signing up for their emails. It’s a total joke to call it a “reward” Besides making my $700 basically valueless, they claim to be a company encouraging and stewarding eco-friendly practices and better for the planet options, but all this product now does is force you to purchase more and more items if you want to use your closet cash balance. Overall, I would basically just say they are scamming you for your money, your items, and masquerading to care about the planet while doing so and would never recommend using this product again.
Above would be my original review. Since writing it, I assume they received lots of bad reviews and angry customers so they opened a very short window where you could use up to $200 of your closet cash in one transaction on For Days. I quickly did this to use up my balance so I can never do business with this company again. I placed multiple orders to use up the balance. My orders were placed 2 weeks ago. 3 items have not arrived at all. Of the 3 items, 2 are no longer on their website. All 3 are the 3 most expensive items I ordered using my closet cash and cost over $150 each. The other items that have arrived no problem were very inexpensive. I’ve reached out to customer service but since these items no longer show on their website and based on the all the other terrible reviews, I have almost no hope I will get these and have been scammed not once, but twice by this company so seriously avoid at all costs.

Lakeitha and the company in general has been amazing to work with! I made a mistake and she helped me correct it every step of the way. And I LOVE the conceit behind the company as a whole

Ordered some leggings and the color I wanted was out of stock after I ordered. I jokingly asked Pilar if they could throw in an extra pair and to my surprise they did! Two for the price of one. Great customer service. Will definitely be sending clothes in again. Thanks Pilar!

Had a lot of options to buy, and when I realized I did not use the right Check out Trashie $$$ I canceled. Customer support (Pilar) coordinated to cancel the entire order in an expedited manner and kept me in the loop.

I sew a lot and had gained a lot of leftover yardage over the years and clothing, bedding and towels. I struggled with how to dispose of them and not add to another landfill. For Days was the answer.
The Take Back Bags are easy to use and the credit is immediate. I had been frustrated with how to redeem points because I had so many but they responded with unique solutions and were wonderful.
I highly recommend using For Days. They are a company striving to make a better world. You've got to like that.

Due to a post office error, my order never made it to my address. I submitted a customer support ticket with photos of a random order that had my shipping label, and Pilar was immediately helpful in resolving the issue. They created a new order with my missing products and their communication was clear and prompt.
I love the intention of the Take Back Bag and it's such an easy process to order bags, fill them, and ship them back. It feels great donating textiles I wouldn't be able to donate elsewhere! The only reason I'm giving 4-stars instead of 5 is because of the new limit of being able to redeem only $20 per order. I understand their reasoning, and their customer announcements/emails were very clear, but I now feel like I'm paying to recycle used textiles.

Pilar was very helpful when I had an issue with the QR codes on my bags. The answer wasn't immediately clear, but she stuck with me to figure out why the issue was happening. We worked together to resolve the issue and I got the shipping labels printed and the bags sent off.

I love having a place to mindfully recycle clothes that cannot be donated but the closet cash is a joke. You can only use $20 per transaction, you cannot use it on more take back bags, and you must pay shipping (unless purchasing take back bags [TBB]). Cost of all items is quite high so even with $20 off an item it is still more than I'd pay in a retail store. Many items do not give sizes and the ones that do not usually provide a sizing chart (IE: there are 1-piece swimsuits currently available with no size selection or measurements, I haven't found any jeans on For Days that provide the inseam length). You cannot cancel an order; you can only return it through their customer service which takes a VERY long time to respond to emails.
I do recommend using For Days but only if you are willing to pay to recycle your Un-donatable clothes, not if you are hoping for a return on your TBB investment.

Closet cash not worth it. You can only redeem $20 per transaction. Shipping is pricey.Offerings are expensive in limited quantities and NOT size inclusive. So $52 in closet cash resulted in 3 transactions @$9 s&h.trying to spend down my credit the last transaction was for a $15 lip gloss,I could only use$10 credit, paid $7 s&h,leaves me with a few dollars credit that are useless. Sorry I tried to help the environment using For Days

Honestly ridiculous. They used to take fabric scraps of all kinds from home sewers but have recently stopped and not put out any sort of announcement. I purchased bags months ago super excited to fill with scraps so they could be down cycled but now the new product description says they can’t. I’ve told many people about the bags and bought another three pack to keep filling, but when I found out I reached out to cancel because 80% of the bags I now have full will have to sorted out since they no longer take scraps and so I don’t need another 3 pack. I requested a refund and got the same cookie cutter answer about how they are non-refundable and final sale, which is ridiculous since the bags haven’t even shipped yet… just cancel and don’t ship the bags, not super complicated.
I understand if your recycling partner has changed and you can’t take scraps anymore, but advertisement highlight how you can put scraps in there and now all of a sudden you can’t, so it feels like false marketing. I also don’t think I’d be this upset if customer service had been helpful at all rather than the same bucket answer that has no thought or concern for the customer at all. Very frustrating since I’m really just trying to find a place to sustainably recycle textiles and they claim to be that place.
I can’t speak as much to recycling garments, so they might still be good for that, but I’m not sure I’ll continue looking to them after this experience.

The customer service was phenomenal. They took the time to look into my inquiry and provide an explanation and resolution. Very impressed with this company!

THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM! you can ONLY use $20 PER ORDER of you "cash" and you HAVE to spend the other $80 to avoid shipping fees. You are basically getting rid of you clothes to buy more from them ! This company is a total trash. Don't waste your money here and instead donate to your local homeless shelter.
