This response is inaccurate, firstly when I contacted ForgottonGems in the first instance I merely requested a discount of £95.00 which is not even 10%, this is not unusual when customers are purchasing goods. She did not accept my request which I accepted. She then asked me to transfer £200 asap to arrange the work to be completed, I transferred this to her on the 24th September, she did not even acknowledge receipt of funds until I asked her. We agreed on colours and then I did not hear anything from her so I sent her a message on the 30th September, she said she would be finished and the unit would be with us by the weekend. This weekend came and went with no updates from her side, I messaged her again on the 8th October, she then went on to say I would have it by the weekend. I then get a message saying delivery wont be until the following week, I finally get it on 17th October. There was no interaction on her side throughout this time period.

The unit was delivered by her couriers. As soon as I checked it over I messaged to say that the drawer was broken and there is a lot of touching up to be done, these are her words. 'it was perfect when I lined it’ this can only have happened during transportation can you not glue this together!' This is not what a reputable company would say to their customers, I also asked why the back of the unit was not painted nor the insides, she had the cheek to say that this was only on request! right from the start she failed to mention this to me. I would have definitely wanted this to be done. I did ask for £150 to be credited to me as a gesture of goodwill as I needed to ask a furniture specialist to paint the insides, touch up all the paintwork that had not been finished correctly and paint the back of the unit and repair the broken drawer, of course she refused this requested amount. She only confirmed she would then pay for the broken drawer but did not discuss any price for the drawer repair.

I asked my carpenter who I use for all my work to repair the drawer and presented her with the invoice which she refused to pay. It is my choice of contractor who I personally use especially if he has been working in my property for many years as he is trustworthy and professional. Her furniture is not finished and completed to a high standard her comments are untruthful this is my experience, I have photos to prove the completed result but unfortunately I cannot upload them to this site. This company has had many good reviews which I cannot understand. I am only telling my honest truth and experience and would not want anyone else to have this awful experience with ForgottonGems.

Using an item Gemma had in stock awaiting beautification, she has recently created a stunning dressing table as a gift for my sister, painted in her chosen colour. A unique, solid piece of furniture given a new life, instead of buying new mass-manufactured. Fabulous attention to detail. Thank you Gemma

I bought a beautiful cabinet from her. I first saw it via the website Etsy. she is trustworthy. The item arrived just as she showed. No issues. Very good stuff. I would recommend.

Gem had a beautiful bow-front desk that she sanded, prepped, oiled and got into tip-top shape before painting it according to my EXACT request. She had the patience of a saint with me as we ran through a huge list of colours. She mixed colour after colour trying to find just the perfect blue for me.

When we finally settled on the right one, she painted the outside one colour and did the interior of the desk area in a contrasting antique white. The result was a completely custom colour scheme that was exactly what I was looking for on this project. It was just perfect.

I've already asked her to look at a new project, I just love how personalised the experience with Gem is. I'm thrilled with her work!

We have purchased two items from Forgottengems and I can't rate the products, prices or service highly enough. Both items (one "off the shelf" and one bespoke) are absolutely beautiful. The photos really aren't able to do them justice. Will certainly be placing orders for other items in the future.

Once you see one of Gem's pieces, you can't forget it. The quality of her work is superb! The care she takes is evident in the finished product. I am highly delighted with the pieces I have purchased and look forward to buying more. I have recommended her to friends and family and they all love her work as much as I do.

I can not recommend forgotten gems highly enough. I’ve been going to Gemma for all my furniture now for the past 3 years, Not only are the pieces she finds unique and full of history but her finishing turns them into beautiful one off pieces of art for my home. I’ve also had Gemma come to my home and redo a couple of the pieces in a different colour to match my new decor which I will continue to do in future.

I am in LOVE with this girls work, iv got a cheat of draws, dressing table & bedside tables from her, & they are all AMAZING!

After falling in love with a sideboard that had already sold, Gemma sourced me an identical (but slightly larger) piece. I was kept updated on the progress of the work and delivery by the courier firm she used was faultless. The sideboard itself is a real show stopper in midnight blue with brass hardwear. The finish is perfect, but Gemma supplied a touch up kit for any bumps, or scrapes. We couldn't be happier with our purchase and are very likely to buy from Forgotten Gems again.
