I tried to use Fortis for my business's credit card processing. They took an excessively long time to onboard me (30+days).
After one of their competitors got me setup in less than 48 hours, I cancelled my account with Fortis. Now, 8+ months later, they have started billing me monthly for a service that I have never used, and will never use. Customer service is non-existent.

This company is awful. Impossible to find someone who can answer rates. The salespeople turn over. Accepting credit cards has actually provided more embarrassing customer experiences than benefit. If I were to do it all over again, I would 100% not go with fortis pay.

I wish I had read reviews before giving Fortis the CC processing for my 5 retail stores. We have only been with them a few months, and one of my stores machines just stopped working, I called and they told me that they could have our brand new machines up and working in 24 hours or so. I asked that they speed that up, and they said they would try. 20 minutes later, a person named "Scott"called to tell us that the store was back up and running, Called the store and the CC machines were still down. I called back to tell them that and they hung up on me, saying that they have a company meeting and that someone will get back to me when they "have time".
Its been 6 hours now, and the hilariously named "Customer Service and Support" team has yet to do anything. In my 29 years in business I have never had a credit card processor treat me so badly.

Was a Blue Dog customer, which merged with Fortis Pay, for almost 4 years. The last two years we barely used the account, so we cancelled on March 15th, 2024.
We have multiple emails and recorded phone calls with Fortis reps confirming our account was cancelled and that we would no longer continue to be charged, yet we were still charged again on June 5th, 2024 for a gateway fee and some other fee that's not clear what it is.
While the amount of money is not significant with these fees, it's unacceptable for Fortis to continue fraudulently charging our (and many other’s) checking account each month.
Our last attempt to reach them on phone resulted in being on hold for 15 minutes before the on-hold music went silent and then 30 seconds later the call dropped.
While the overall service was adequate when we were actively using them, it’s clear that Fortis Pay has no intention of letting any of its customers go and will continue to milk them. So beware before signing up.

Fortis made taking payments so much easier for our office. With the ability to set up reoccurring payments, saving cards to multiple accounts, and the ease of taking payments has made life better for both our employees and our chiropractic patients!
Great option for a chiropractic and physical therapy practice!
I deal with 4 different credit card companies and no-one comes close to providing the poor and total unsatisfactory level of support that I have experienced from Fortispay (ex payment logistics).
If you are in the US east coast they dont “answer” the ph until after 10am. When i say “answer” i mean that is supposedly their service hours. All you get is the phone ringing and no-one picks up. If you leave a message, which i have on several occasions during the month of May, their response was over 2 hours and on one ocassion I didn’t even get a call back.
On the two separate occasions when I was lucky enough to finally talk to someone they failed to follow thru.
For a service that is relatively mission critical, their service is appalling. Unfortunately the equipment i use mandates we need to use them. If you have a choice, run as fast as you can.

I am glad I made the switch to Fortis. They are affordable, integrate into my software, versatile and so easy to use.
Not enough feedback. One mentoring meeting the signal was horrid and then my mentor and the company never rebooked that meeting. Just messaged me see you in 2 weeks.
Says an hour a day would make it work, unfortunately it didn't for me.
Good people good human beings. But after 3 or 4 months and 4 different types of trying to get the business going, none of the methods worked(for me) so I then decided to step back and respectfully ask for the refund. As they promised. Emails back and forth for weeks. And nothing.
At least after the 4 months we've worked together and decided it wasn't for me. They would and could have paid me back. They didn't, so careful when reading the waiver.
Just unhappy about the refund policy. My new mentor said. Well let them know how you feel. And I did.
Called to cancel services which initially took over a month. Then to find out they only canceled 1 of 3 services we had with them when we should have only had one. 3 months later we have been charged over $800 and when we called back the had no record of us ever calling nor could they figure out anything helpful. This company has been completely awful to solve our problems with us and they just act dumb. Do NOT waste your hard earned money on this scam of a company. You'll never get your money back.
This company is absolutely terrible. This company completely misrepresented their fees and then just kept piling on! They made it very difficult to cut ties with them and continued to charge even after I separated from them. Completely unethical company that I am sorry I ever did business with.
So frustrated with the continual increase of nickel dime charges and then a huge jump for non-compliance. Please note, during the time of "non-compliance", the service was not used. Fortis was not able to provide any documentation that I had been informed of non-compliance - which I had not received. I cancelled my contract and was still charged. Stay away! There are plenty of other services that will process CCs for FFLs
ABSOLUTE TRASH COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. MULTIPLE CHARBEBACKS WERE APPROVED BECAUSE WE SHIP TO GUN STORES SO THAT CUSTOMERS CAN GO THRU A BACKGROUND CHECK PRIOR TO TAKING POSSESSION OF FIREARMS. FORTIS STATES THAT THE FIREARM SHIPMENT MUST GO TO THE BILLING ADDRESS AND NOT THE GUN STORE. HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO PROCESS TRANSACTIONS FOR THE FIREARM INDUSTRY AND KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HOW ONLINE GUN PURCHASES WORK??? GARBAGE....
Years of use, millions processed, they are hidden deeper than the Biden Family Crime syndicate. After hours of calls, diggind, handoffs and frustration, I find the rood of the issue. Confront them. When I cancelled my account, they say i didnt cancel all the way. Zero dollars processed for a year, and they keep taking $127/MO. Refused to refund even with my proof of cancellation and gave me 90 days. I swear, card processers are akin to the scum of the earth.

I should have read the reviews prior to purchasing.
I never leave reviews but this one is so bad I had no choice but to warn others. I had a great sales lady, she was amazing. She was the last one to be helpful. Their initial sales guy had no idea what was happening, 2 guys in total, young kids.
After that I got her and was very happy with all she had to say.
We signed the contract, then they said we can't do automated batch reporting. That was after they said they could... within 72 hours I sent an email to cancel the account. We never even logged in, set up anything. Then they started to debit my bank account. I reached out to the sales lady and she said she would work on it. Then the same thing the next month. Then the third month again. She never got back to me so I had to get the bank to do a stop payment.
Now they want $2,400.00. "we took so long to set up the account".
I said I would consider coming back when they have API integration but they want me to pay for something that CAN'T work as they said it would.
Now they are threatening collection action.
Use anyone else but just beware. I should have read the reviews first. Now it's a nightmare and no one to talk to.

Fortis stole money from my company for months after ceasing to provide services. Well hidden ACH deductions and then when they were called out about it would not refund the money that was stolen. Since Bank of America can't get my money back from them, I will now just remind people everyday that Fortis is a garbage company that will steal your money.
