Forward Carers at Birmingham Women's Hospital
Monica and a colleague from Forward Carers visited us at Birmingham Women's Hospital today. A stall was prepared in our lobby bursting with information and resources. We also toured the hospital to ensure our staff know how to refer to Forward Carers - and a little about the support available. It was so valuable and really helps staff in their personal lives, in addition to being a really valuable resource for us to share with patients, parents & families.
Forward Carers have have been…collaborative
Forward Carers have have been supportive and collaborative in helping raise awareness of what is available for carers and also enabling people to recognise when they are a carer. We have had two afternoons at SWBH one on each site to engage with our staff, patients and families

Life savers
I met four lovely ladies from forward carers. I presented with my carers card which can be used to get discounts at several locations and online. I was telling them that I will become a yoga teacher next month with two other carers. I explained how having access to yoga during the Pandemic was an absolute lifesaver. I felt as if Kam had looked inside my soul each week as she's a carer too. She has an excellent understanding of how we are feeling and just had the right encouragement to get us through another week . Faye, Wendy . Tania and Jon have inspired me to stay steadfast and finish my yoga teacher training course.
I wish that more carers can access All the great activities and events provided by the forward carer team
Monica Gregory
Monica came out to our carers groups today, which was fantastic. She was able to provide information, advice, and guidance on the services provided to carers.
She arrived with resources and goodies and was able to answer questions and guide carers in the right direction of support.

Appreciate your information
Thank you Anne Barnes for attending Women of Haymills Coffee Morning, and providing extremely useful information to our ladies, for being kind, friendly and approachable and signposting them to services that may help them as unofficial carers.

Forward Carers at Carers Week June 2024
I attended a Carers Week event at the BID Signing Tree Centre on Tuesday 11th June 2024. There was a Forward Carers stand there with lots of leaflets and useful information. I spoke to a lady named Jess who was very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of useful advice although I must say, since I'd registered with FC's, I get regular updates and newsletters so was already in receipt of a lot of the services they offer. They offer a good service. I am very pleased with them and am glad I registered with them. It was through them I was aware of Carers Week. Thank you all.
Carer's Event
I attended Carer's event day at The Signing Tree based in Ladywood and it was a very good experience.
Everyone was very helpful and supportive. I got help in completing the form that will ensure that I can get discounts.
Everyone was friendly and helpful.
Well done to the organisers and everyone who was present today 👏
