Kevin, our driver, was recommended by a friend who lived in Beijing for a couple years and colleagues who had used his cab company a few months earlier. He has many drivers who speak English and is himself quite knowledgeable about the ins and outs of Beijing. He metus at the airport carrying our name tag, and dropped off at our hotel in Nanluguoxiang. Kevin met us at 8.30 and drove us to The Summer Palace and then on to the Great Wall, across town, in heavy traffic, the same day, and waited till we were done there around 5pm. He then ferried us to the restaurant we'd decided on. I changed my flight and told Kevin I would take the metro to the airport after my errand and my sister would use the transfer but he sent a vehicle to pick me up at no additional cost. I paid him, including a tip, via wechat but he returned this in a red packet.
