Made a lovely pair of shoes

My 86 year old dad needed some shoes that did not rub his hammer toe. He had tried everything honestly. Contacted Franklin. They were friendly and helpful and came out to his house to measure his very narrow high instep feet. He absolutely loves these shoes. Wore them first time without any problems. A couple of things to be aware of if you use this company. The shoes were expensive, actually £1700 which is a lot of money, but they did the job so we can't complain. The only thing they could have done better was be more responsive to calls and more precise on timescales. It took about two months for them to be made when he was quoted less time. He wasn't unhappy about the wait, but I must admit, just getting an answer phone when you call, no quick call back and waiting for a long time started to make me worried it was a scam. It wasn't. So, if you use these people don't panic, they're genuine and made a lovely pair of shoes. I'm sure each pair are priced according to the needs of each person as well, so could be less or more depending on your need. They're quality shoes and worth the money and the wait.

Poor communication and disappointing product.

It took a painful year and 2 months for my sandals to arrive.
There was no proactive communication by Franklin, I had to chase every step of the process.
The office phone is picked up promptly enough but the person you need to speak to is NEVER available. You are always told they will ring back but they never do, if you are lucky you might get an email, otherwise you will have to chase again.

The sandals eventually arrived by post.
1. They did not fit properly, the closing straps were far too long so I couldn’t tighten them sufficiently.
2. One of the strap ends had been sewn back to front so that there was a raw edge showing.
3. Whilst the footbed had been moulded to my feet they had not taken into account the action of the insoles that I have to wear so they are not comfortable. The whole point of paying for bespoke footwear is so that I don’t have to wear the insoles!
There was no follow-up aftercare communication.
