Disgusting customer service

Disgusting customer service, billing done for things you didn’t order. Will not refund and they don’t give what they advertise still 100% free service and app. Still advertising it !

No longer FREE-dom Pop

Suddenly, out of the blue and without warning I start getting charged. I had not used this sim in 2 years and now I find £3.49 going from my account.

I sensibly logged into my account and googled how to CANCEL, followed the clicks to the CANCEL ACCOUNT button which of course was missing from my screen. Great business model, albeit slightly Mafioso. I think these guys do business "Russian Style".

Has the bubble burst for FreedomPop?

I've been a FreedomPopUK customer for about five years how. A decent service with one or two very serious support snags (like being billed for months for somebody else's account).

The last two years have been fine. Until this month.

The service was interrupted with a spurious message that my account hadn't been paid. I've experienced this before—it seems to be an accounting hitch that fixes itself a day or so later. The account apparently self-healed yesterday.

Apparantly. So now I'm paying for this month's usage. Except that this month I have no phone or data connection. Nothing.

Who to take this up with? The contact page suggested by the Android FreedomPopUK app gives me "Web page not available". An email to FreedomPopUK's press desk (I'm a UK IT journalist) remains unanswered, as does a tweet and a DM to @freedompopUK.

I notice that the most recent tweet from that account is dated 06 Jul 17. Is anybody home?

Apart from those few but serious account snarl-ups, Freedompop UK's lowest tariff has been very useful for someone like me who works mainly with WiFi and makes and receives very few mobile phone calls. Useful, that it, until these past few days.

I'll be very sorry to say goodbye. But with a failed service offering, apparently, no help resources, I don't seem to have much choice.

Freedompop UK not what it looks

Freedompop UK appears to no longer be part of freedompop.
You can reset passwords as the link sent on email doesn't work. You get no sms text codes either.
They have no taken away the free service wanting money for the smallest plan. Why not offer a free plan with say only 50 texts and a few free mins a month rather than force someone to have to pay a monthly fee. Freedompop was meant to be free as an option and looking at reviews i would not trust them with your credit card.
Fix the UK website, fix the reset passwords for UK numbers and make it clear who FreedomPOP uk is now. Very suspect all round.

I did find out the below from another user from the old owners;
We are no longer affiliated with FreedomPop U.K. please reach out to wmyers"at"x-mobility.com for any of your questions or concerns, thanks!
