Low carbs diet needed

I’ve really enjoyed using Frive — the food quality is excellent. Every meal tastes fresh, well-prepared, and genuinely delicious. The portion sizes are also very satisfying, which makes it feel like good value for money.

That said, I do think there’s room for improvement when it comes to dietary options. It would be great to see more meals tailored for a low-carb lifestyle, as many of the current dishes tend to be quite high in carbs and sugar. I’d also love to see more vegetables included in the meals to create a better nutritional balance.

Overall, a great service with high-quality meals — just hoping for a bit more flexibility and healthier balance in nutrition choices in the future.

Good meals. Decent service. Some hiccups.

I've been enjoying Frive as it does what it set out to do and saves me time and food waste with really tasty, (mostly) whole food meals.
What I've run into that knocks off a star is as follows:

1. The Beef Pho will not stay sealed. I've ordered it twice. Twice it's ended up in the bin. One time was a poor plastic film seal that could not compete with the oil. The other time, the oily liquid had eaten its way through the lined card container. The chicken pho seemed to survive it's journey so I'm not sure why the beef pho is so wet/oily in comparison.

2. Issuing a credit instead of a refund for damaged meals causes a bit of a confusion if checking statements later and gets people locked in to having to order again to get their refund to work for them (this is possibly by design, let's be honest). At least give people the option instead of automatically processing credit.

3. I once ran into a problem where the website did not remember/process my order correctly and sent me a bunch of random meals. I was surprised by what turned up because I was specifically excited about a rice side and 2 portions of a favourite beef gyudon. Instead I find a peanut/chocolate bar (I hate peanuts so why would I order this?) and two meals with green beans (guess what I also hate lol). I went to check my account and of course the order recorded did reflect what had arrived. I realised I must have been the victim of a glitch. I'm not entirely sure what the glitch was. The system got upset when I ordered prawns, completely froze up the site and made me back out, refresh and order the whole thing again after telling me to change my settings to allow fish. Strange, as the auto select had given me prawn meals in past orders before I had to do this manually.

4. You can select up to three things you don't like and don't want included in your meals - helpful feature! Funnily enough the one food I can't find on there to exclude is green beans which hints at an over reliance on them.

5. The other over reliance is with rice. This is understandable but a little bit exhausting. I don't mind this on the weeks where you have a lot of other options balanced with pasta, potato or noodles but occasionally, the meal choices suddenly line up to a point where it's hard to avoid rice. This is also not helped when my beef pho option keeps taking itself off the table while in transit, so I'm left with rice options outnumbering other carb choices.

Regarding my beef pho fiasco, I'll give a shout out to Fritz on customer service who gave me a no quibbles credit and said he would deliver the feedback up the chain to production. If it's not just me being unlucky and many people find their beef phos leaky, I assume there will be a change. Hopefully, one day, I will get an intact Beef Pho and actually be able to try it!

Delicious meals

I have now had my first week of meals and they have been absolutely delicious and of a very high quality. Love the packaging, arrived safely and intact. Quick and easy to have after a long day too.

fair food provider

fair food provider. Meals are hit and miss, but 8.49 for some rice and meat it's not cheap,given the fact that the food is not fresh..I am still ordering from them a few meals a week,but I wouldn't use them as my main meal provider.

Delivery was good

Delivery was good. Easy to amend meal choices and plenty of options to pick. As a first time customer, I was pleasantly surprised by taste and portion size. Easy to heat. Packaging also very good. Will use again for sure.

Poor packaging, underweight meals, repeated issues.

I’ve been getting Frive meals for two years, but it has gone downhill in the last six months.

The food often arrives with damaged packaging, sometimes it’s quite slight so I only notice when going to eat the meal and realising it’s off. The big box it arrives in shows no damage, so not a delivery issue. I have also found chunks of plastic from broken sauce pots in the food a couple of times.

I keep being sent coconut ice despite removing coconut from my ingredient list months ago, and a customer service rep promising this would no longer occur. I know I can log in and change stuff, but the whole point of this is to save time.

Snacks are frequently under weight. The bars are supposed to be 85g and are often under 65g with some being as low as 40g! £5 for a tiny bar?!? The brownies are supposed to have three chunks and often have two (not bigger ones, they’re 2/3 weight).

Not once has a delivery been handed to me (literally not once in two whole years). I’ve watched them dump the delivery outside my door and not even bothering to knock. This often results in soggy packaging that leaves green ink stains over anything it touches.

I’ve only stayed this long due the food being tasty, being able to getting refunds easily and being given significant discounts when going to cancel- but I’ve had enough.

NOT WHAT I ORDERED

Different meals arrived to those that were ordered.
Food is extremely spicy..Waffle breakfast was very stodgy indeed and there were two pots with it a very strange colour custard and a very sharp fruity concoction. The app is pretty useless, if you make a mistake you can't simply go back a stage, but are taken all the way back to the beginning . So frustrating. One of my exclusions is lentils and yet one of the meals I was offered actually had lentil in its title. Definitely not a great start with my Frive journey. I am bed bound dependant on carers serving my meals which is why thought this would be a good option for me..

Easy to order

Easy to order, and great customer service. The meals are healthy, and well balanced, I'm a stone lighter! It's the only meal prep that has lots of tasty fish dishes too.
