Bought product that didn't work and…

Bought product that didn't work and within 1 hour asked for a refund. Company says they can't honor the refund as they didn't do troubleshooting and the product is not defect.
If a product doesn't work out of the box, then the consumer should have the right to ask for a refund, which is not the case.
They have a very long history of bad customer support that always blames the customer and I hope Digital River will step in and protect their own identity despite this publisher's bad rep.
