Future Sound Academy is a one-to-one artist development studio for electronic music producers and DJs. We work with artists worldwide online, and in person at our studio in Warrington, UK. Our focus is house, techno, progressive and trance. Every session is built around your own music: finishing tracks, arrangement, sound design, mixdown, DJing, and getting your music ready for labels. Founder Matt Leigh has had his music played by Armin van Buuren on A State of Trance, and by Aly & Fila and Giuseppe Ottaviani. Head of Production Dave Parkinson has worked with Mark Knight and Underworld. No courses, no group classes. Just your music, one mentor, and honest feedback.

DJ Masterclass - Future Sound Academy

I contacted the Future Sound Academy a couple of months ago after reading about their DJ courses and I asked if there was any possibility of taking a course remotely, as I live a few hours’ drive from their studio in Warrington. Matt, one of the course tutors contacted me offering a remote option over Zoom. I started the DJ Masterclass course a few weeks ago with Matt and I am super pleased with my progress so far..

The Remote Masterclass DJ Course is an excellent option for aspiring DJs who want to develop their mixing skills from home. Zoom is set up in the Future Sound Academy’s studio with many different cameras providing views of all the equipment, CDJ’s, mixer, PC running Rekordbox etc so you can see everything.

The course structure is well-designed taking you through a complete and thorough overview of your equipment (in my case Pioneer CDJ’s and mixer), We have focused on Rekordbox and getting it connecting to my equipment in performance mode and we have been looking at many of the functions of the equipment including EQ, Beat FX, Colour FX, Beat Looping, Tempo changes and key retention of tracks and much more. I cannot believe how much I have learnt in the four hours of training I have had so far and how much knowledge I will have gained by the end of the course.

I would not hesitate in recommending this remote DJ Masterclass course to any aspiring DJ. Matt is patient, his knowledge of the equipment functions and techniques is unsurpassed, and I am really looking forward to the next session.
