unhygenic
Went there Yesterday it was my second time going there and I was hoping that it had improved from my first visit but, unfortunately it hadn’t . I asked for a coffee with skimmed milk the server said semi skimmed I replied skimmed got my order and checked it was with skimmed milk and I was told they don’t do skimmed.
The food isn’t covered and there were dogs in the premises and the dogs hair was flying every where including on the food . The people handling the food didn’t have their hair tied back and there wasn’t a sign being displayed saying card only when cash is still legal tender they refused to take it asked them where does it say card only the server just walked away ..paid on my card as I had no choice .. Things need to improve there hygiene wise , customer relation wise and notifications for people to see about being card only before they walk in to the shop I for one will not be visiting Gails in Greenwich again
A great experience at the Greenwich branch!
A particularly kind server named Prasanth took the time to help me download the Gail’s app today. I’m not tech savvy and his patient assistance and advice were so much appreciated. Credit to him and the other outstanding staff at Greenwich. Whether it is describing their products to me or making recommendations, they are unreservedly helpful, kind, and cheerful -even though it is a very busy place. I love the happy vibe in this particular store!
Not a pot of tea anymore
A pot of tea used to mean just that, until Gail's greed has made them only half fill the pots so you only get 1 cup. Don't charge for a pot of tea, and start selling it by its new name, a CUP. Really disappointing as I used to like Gails

Disappointing…
The ciabatta was dry and the ham and cheese inside it were discoloured at the edges, like it had been sitting out too long. There was next to no butter and no dressing or sauce of any kind. Very disappointing overall and would be very unlikely to go there again.

Only ever had a positive experience with good quality fresh food and coffee
Numerous reviews on this platform have mentioned rude staff but I've always found the staff friendly and helpful even when dealing with long queues and a busy shop. Last weekend whilst waiting for our order the bakers in the kitchen found the time to engage with my 3 year old son and even gave him a free pastry straight from the kitchen which made his day.
A bit of balance needed - amazing bread
I find myself addicted to the San Francisco sourdough. I’ve made all my own bread in the past but I’m a busy man and real sourdough is just a step too far. I now find I have to buy this every week - I crave it - and for a weekly treat of exceptional quality it’s decent value. Maybe coffee and cakes are pricey but a small price to pay for the Rolls-Royce of breads. Will never own the car but can eat the bread.
The French talk of the holy trinity - bread, cheese and wine. Well Gail’s San Francisco sourdough takes this moderately prosperous person partway there.
