(Tunbridge Wells) Food and drink were fine (as usual at a Gail’s) but although the café was quiet the unoccupied tables (and in one case the benches) were covered in crumbs/sticky mess/spilt liqui... See more

I visited Gail’s on Saturday afternoon. The man behind the counter clearly was dis engaged. I asked if they did pup cups for dogs and his response No. And no again when I explained what it was. Didn’t want to be there. Served me a burnt muffin and skinny cap. Very disappointing when you have other options. Pret’s, Starbucks etc. I won’t be visiting again.

No facilities to heat food. So the cheese, leak and potato pie didn't feel particularly nice.
The smallest cup of chocolate I have ever had. No handle on the cup The blueberry and custard brioche was tough to eat. Wouldn't go there again.

Staff need to be reminded about hygiene, not all staff put on fresh, clean gloves to pick up the bread and slice it, as I witness today.

Gails had the best Olive sourdough bread. I bought it every(!) day. Unfortunately this has changed for the last few weeks. It became inedible now. How can this be??

Lovely and smiley staff! Great coffee and bread

Well! Yet again one of the staff members was rude and unhelpful. I asked for a particular croissant from the counter display. The assistant was going to the tray behind and really didn't want to take the one I wanted from the display. She rudely told me they were all the same but some looked burnt. I've had to return them for that reason in the past.
She reluctantly took the one I requested but made it obvious she want happy.
Very poor customer service. It really puts us off going back. They all seem grumpy and rarely smile.

Staff at Euston are consistently rude.
Last time no food left.
Today ordered a scone.
Women put it in bag. I said i want to est in.
No plates was the answer.
You need a knife to cut the scone and butter. It quite basic.
I hate the Euston branch.

I am writing to provide feedback on my recent visit to your new Beckenham location.
I visited with a friend, and we both planned to use the new customer voucher from the Gail's app, which offers a free coffee or loaf of bread with any purchase. I chose to receive a free loaf of bread and purchase a coffee. When I asked the assistant which bread was included in the offer, I was told "any loaf." I then inquired about the types of loaves available (wholemeal, rye, white, etc.), but the assistant seemed to lack knowledge about the bread selection.
I eventually chose the Bruern Farms Sourdough. However, at the till, after scanning my voucher, I was informed that the coffee was the free item, not the bread. Furthermore, I was then told that the Bruern Farms Sourdough was not included in the offer, contradicting the previous information that "any loaf" was eligible.
After this confusion, I was allowed to select another loaf and chose the seeded sourdough. When attempting to pay, the assistant asked me to scan my voucher again, but it had disappeared from my app after the initial scanning attempt. This led to further confusion, and a colleague had to be called to assist.
Eventually, the transaction was completed, and I received my decaf oat latte and seeded sourdough. I must say, the coffee was excellent, and the bread was delicious. However, I believe that additional staff training on offer details and product knowledge would greatly improve the customer experience.

Very overpriced croissants at £4.30 , rather ridiculous- I won't be going back there any time soon

Ive been few times at Long Acre shop, its always the same problems such as cold coffee despite you had requested extra hot, staffs and the manager don't care. I gave up to Gail's.

I generally like Gail’s but the fact that you overcharge for vegan milk is making me downgrade the rating. You should promote non animal products or at least non overcharge people who are trying to reduce it
Baked goods are usually stale, crust of their bread was so hard it cracked my back tooth must be extracted. Matcha served warm. Staff all seem like they just started same day, make a racket, overpriced, 1 bathroom.
At Liverpool st station - enticing display of delicious looking items. Also has small coffees to go. Hate wasting the generic larger sizes that other chains provide. I was a tired , getting on a bit lady fumbling for payment. The female assistant who served me was beyond kind and I won't forget your smile.
The coffee and scone were delicious. I have tried to make these scones from the recipe book but never match the lightness of texture.

I love Gails, the food is tasty and the coffee is lovely. However you have lost a point because when I ordered an Iced Latte to have in, I was disappointed it was served in such a small glass. Compared to the coffee to go this was gone in a few sips where as the takeaway one takes me ages to drink. Please please can you change the size of the glass so this can be enjoyed properly. Thank you.

Size of the sourdough loaves have decreased by about 20% and the quality of the sourdough has also gotten worse, with the brown sourdough ‘flatter’ and with much smaller air holes in the dough than it was about 8 months ago. Something has happened to the recipe or the quality of the starter, it barely passes as proper bakery quality sourdough bread lately. It’s super disappointing as I used to love their bread, but now with the combined smaller size, poor quality and increase in price (£5.40 for what is now a small loaf) it’s gotten a bit ridiculous. This is a problem across all bakeries and in supermarkets that stock Gail’s bread - the issue is the same no matter where I buy the bread. Such a shame.

We Placed an order and then told that they don’t accept cash. My son who is disabled cannot use payment cards due to his disability’s understanding contactless and unable to read the amount charged. He can only use cash. He wanted to treat me to afternoon tea. We ended up going to Costa’s.

Gail’s Billericay the worst branch I have ever been in. Floors, tables and toilets dirty. The staff are idle and the seating area freezing cold, Air Con on continually with the door open!! It’s October and they seem oblivious. I won’t be going there again.
