Disgusted and angry mom

I am a proud mom to 2 beautiful kids. I made the tough decision to pull my kids out of public school during Covid and ended up (by recommendation of a mom from my online homeschool group) to supplement their learning with GamED Academy's Minecraft courses. The transition during the pandemic was difficult on both of my kids, so at first I was glad to give them a place to interact with their peers. A couple years later, and I decided to keep homeschooling them both even after the pandemic. My oldest, after being an active student of the server for years, got promoted to moderator, of which she was very proud. However, recently, my daughter came to me and explained some of what had been going on, including both her and many of her friends. I was under the impression that the server was constantly moderated by adults, as stated plainly on their website. According to my daughter, this is in fact not the case, as the staff members and adults trusted children as young as 9 years old to moderate their server for them. The things that happened surrounding this server disgust me. My daughter explained multiple instances of children getting bullied, harassed and even groomed by students and staff members alike. When the owners of the server were confronted with ample proof of these instances occurring, they took no action, as some were members of their team. I am ashamed at how long this company's actions have flown under my radar and have already pulled both my children from enrollment. I cannot believe these people have allowed a supposed safe space for children to turn into such a nightmare. (I initially left a review on their Facebook page and they removed it.)

Worst PAID Homeschooling EVER.

GamED Academy singlehandedly destroyed my mental and emotional health. Between the pedophilia, grooming, bullying, threats, and constantly denying proof when provided? Not to mention the several kids who were bullied into submission if someone else was a more 'valued'. (Paid more than the other student to be there) I would not recommend. I was on GamED for years and I can tell you I know of 3 kids who wanted to attempt at ending themselves within' the last 4 years. Their website is nothing but blatant lies. They've had 16-17 year olds grading your child's work. Not to mention the pre-teens who RAN the moderation team. My cousin was still on the server and he would tell me what was going on in his life and it was always drama. The admins handle nothing and leave it all for poor teenagers who know nothing other than what they've been brainwashed into thinking. Those kids, also are not paid, its all for 'collage credits' that do not exist. Ms. Nikki the current owner has ran the server into the ground and destroyed Ms. Jody's legacy. I joined GamED back in 2017 and it was the best thing I could've done for myself, or so I thought. I now have severe PTSD thanks to this server and am so sorry to any other child who was ever left in that hell. If you think this is an overstatement, I wish it was, unfortunately, that's a fax.

Your city gave me trauma

Great way to teach kids how to stay safe online... by providing every example to avoid possible.

Bullying? It's abundant. Child endangerment? They live for it. Grooming? You got it. Gaslighting everyone to believe none of this happens or has ever happened? It's fueled by that.

Wrap this up in "Toxic Work Environment" themed wrapping paper, before putting a nice "Your Salary Is The Warmth Your Heart Will Feel From Helping Us" shaped bow, and you've got this business summarized nicely.

Your city gave me trauma.

And that's fax, no printer.
