Central heating repair

My wife emailed the company via the website to ask for someone to come and look at our boiler which was working for hot water but not heating. Matt attended within the hour and promptly diagnosed and fixed the problem. We have used Gassafe for the last 9 years including installation of a new boiler 5 years ago and subsequent servicing. We have always found them to be a great company who attend promptly for a reasonable cost and always with a smile. Highly recommend.

Quick to attend and fix boiler issues

Gas Safe Heating & Plumbing are quick to attend to appointments and provide high quality diagnosis & fixes. After having an initial issue on my boiler post fix, they were quick to remedy this & keep me satisfied. Glad to recommend & they are local to the south east London area.

Gas Safe Heating & Plumbing - Boiler Service & Gas Safety Check

I have used Gas Safe Heating & Plumbing for at lease 3-4 years for boiler Services and Gas Safety Certificate. They have also previously replaced a faulty radiator valve. Gas Safe Heating & Plumbing usually remind me via an email prior to the annual boiler service date. This triggers me to give them a call and arrange an appointment. I find them polite and informative. I have always had a good service with follow-up report documentation emailed with 24 hours. I am extremely happy with their services and have come to trust and rely on them over the years.

New boiler installation

Most recently, David from Gas Safe was at my property installing new boiler. David provided a clean and professional service. He ensured all appliances were working as expected post installation and flushed out the whole central system to ensure the boiler was installed correctly and hot water was present throughout the property.

Poor communication. don’t care if you are out of hot water and heating

Poor communication. Irresponsible and inflexible. Would not recommended.

Turned all gas off on an annual gas safe check without providing report, solution or follow up appointment until the week after. leaving the house without hot water and heating ,causing enormous stress and inconvenience to occupants but would not treat it as priority. Won’t allow speaking directly to engineer so there was a lot of email back and forth with the office admin, who was not present at the job site so the information was super uncleared.

Inflexible in their approach. Insist on ground floor access which we have trouble getting due to uncooperative neighbour when the new engineer fixed the problem by putting his arm out of the window.

Also failed to detect a boiler leak which is picked up by the new engineer.

Adding update here as not seeing reply function. Invoice was sent on 18th but certificate wasn’t sent until 22nd.

A new engineer from another company fixed the issue through the window. Not your company. To claim that certainly doesn’t agree with the honest approach you are trying to portray.

Your engineer also fail to detect a leak which make me wonder the quality of your company’s first visit.

With the reasons above, my harsh review stands. In fact you are making the matter worse by not checking the case properly and claim you did something you didn’t do.

Dear Miss Ngai, thank you for reviewing our company. Our company strives to be the best, most efficient, and the standout heating company in our area, we do however understand that our work is time constrained, and very often urgent, but occasionally there are reasons beyond our control why we cannot complete works when requested, for instance when parts are unavailable. We carried out a landlord gas safety inspection for you, and on this occasion the boiler was deemed unsafe and disconnected on Friday 18/6/21. A gas inspection is crucial to check if an appliance is safe to use, on this occasion it was not, we are sorry that this may have caused you some set-back, but the priority is leaving a property with safe appliances, connected, or disconnected. The certificate and quote for repairs was sent on the same day. You wanted us to attend on the Saturday 19/6 when your bailiffs were due to evict the tenant, unfortunately parts were not available until 22/6. For health and safety our engineer requested access to the ground floor flat for a ladder to replace a part of the flue outside. A no quibble refund for further works was performed when you had made other arrangements. I do hope others could look at our other reviews across this and many other platforms for a reasonable view of our company, our culture, and ethics. Thank you.

No point having a service

I recently had a boiler service from Gas Safe Heating & Plumbing. The point of which I believe is to ensure everything is running ok. Now, two weeks after the service, the timer has broken and they want to charge me to come and look at it! What was the point of a service!? No warranty or responsibility for their work.
A rip off!

Hi Rebecca.
We came to service your boiler and fire as requested and at the time, you did mention a noise from the boiler but whilst We were there it would not make the noise.
Other than that the system was all working fine.
You are now saying that 2 weeks after we serviced it the timer has stopped working and are implying that its our fault.
It was all fine when we left the house and if it has stopped working 2 weeks later the that is just coincidence, therefore we feel we are within our rights to charge for a call out.
A service is not a guarantee that the whole system will work perfectly until the next service in a years time.
We hope this clears up the situation.
