Very efficient delivery service
Paul and Simon delivered my gate today. They called to let me know they were 15 mins away and left the gate under a tarp with the other parts of the gate. They were very polite.

Gary and Tony delivered my Cheltenham…
Gary and Tony delivered my Cheltenham Low Bi Fold Gates in good order a few weeks ago. Gate installation had been awaiting a new resin bound hard standing which is now complete. I had been eagerly awaiting to hang the gates and, now in place, they are looking great and certainly add a touch of class to the frontage of our small terraced house. These gates, beautifully hand crafted by Ed, are very substantial and certainly have a quality feel to them. I had some trepidation with respect to having made the correct size selection but there was plenty of guidance on the website and everything has fitted perfectly. A successful outcome and worthy of recommendation.

Smooth delivery and fantastic gate
The delivery of the gate for one of our plots was very smooth, Barry and Jordan were very accommodating and careful when unloading and carrying it to where it was needed. I was asked to inspect the gate before signing, it had been very well protected for transit and was faultless, Gareth had done a sterling job with the quality and finish.

Great value and speedy delivery
Easy to get order placed. Helpful staff when I had queries - thx Lisa. And the delivery was quick, with Simon and Gary delivering with care!
Only thing I'd suggest is that they stock brackets etc to fit the railing and balustrade to help simplify the process.

Rotten gate and poor customer service
Avoid Gates & Fences UK
Bought a gate less than 5 years ago and maintained it annually with outdoor Ronseal paint. Despite this, it began rotting in several places. When contacted, the company blamed us and dismissed it as “natural wood behavior,” later claiming Ronseal isn’t recommended. Poor materials, zero accountability, and unhelpful customer service. Strongly advise steering clear.

The gate was purchased unfinished as you stated . Therefore we painted it with 3 coats of Ronseal garden paint . On a yearly basis we lightly sanded and gave two coats same paint . This year on prepping the gate we noticed that gate rotting beneath paint from inside out . On contacting your customer service they came up with several excuses.
1wood is natural material, it rots

Therefore I do think my review was a just and fair account of my experience with this company

I am unclear how you feel this is a Gates and Fences issue.
You purchased an unfinished gate. As such, the customer takes all responsibility for the care and maintenance of their gate. Paint/ stain is used to protect the timber from rot/ mould etc. If not applied correctly, rot will form.
Like suggested, if you feel that the paint did not protect the timber then contact Ronseal.
We go above and beyond to keep our customers happy. Suggesting our customer service team are unhelpful is extremely unfair as this is a maintenance issue not a fault with our product.

Metal side gate and posts
Brought a metal side gate and metal posts. Excellent quality and finish, and heavier than expected, so should last for years ! Very good lock and handles. Delivery took longer than expected, but I’m very pleased with the purchase and the service.
