Misleading trial offer and poor customer response

I signed up for what was advertised as a £2.99 “14-day full access” trial on beBee. After the trial period expired, I was automatically charged £49.90 for a monthly subscription.

While the renewal price does appear in small text on the sign-up page, the overall page design is heavily focused on the £2.99 trial price, which is presented prominently throughout. The much larger ongoing subscription cost is far less visible, which in my view makes the true cost of the service easy to miss.

What I found particularly frustrating is that the page also prominently states:

“TOTAL GUARANTEE – Try it for 14 days and if you are not 100% satisfied, we will refund your money.”

After discovering the renewal charge I cancelled the subscription immediately and contacted support explaining that I was clearly not satisfied with the service. Despite this guarantee wording, beBee refused to consider any refund and stated their decision was “final and irrevocable”.

The response I received from support was defensive and dismissive, focusing entirely on their terms rather than addressing the lack of clarity in how the pricing is presented.

This experience left me feeling that the trial offer is designed in a way that emphasises the low entry price while downplaying the true monthly cost, and that the “guarantee” wording does not reflect how customer concerns are actually handled.

I would strongly recommend that anyone considering signing up reads the small print very carefully before entering payment details.

If beBee is willing to reconsider its position and resolve this matter fairly, I would of course be happy to update this review to reflect that outcome.
