Had solar panels fitted 2013. No probems.
Now selling house but lost purchase receipt (which i need for selling). Contacted GEP & they were only too happy to help, e-mailed me with receipt within minutes.

Organised our Solar install on our business premises prior to reading these reviews so very nearly didn't go through with it.

After expressing our concerns to Sam their Project Manager and finding out that we were dealing with a completely different team to the one being reviewed on here years ago, we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Very glad that we did.

The install was booked in within a reasonable timeframe. The installers were very polite and worked both cleanly and efficiently.
All necessary certificates and paperwork have been issued and received.
We now have 25 fully working panels providing electricity for us even throughout the winter months (install was 24th Oct 2022)
Also, the panels (being all black) blend in very well with our roof so not at all unsightly.
Thank you to Sam and Steve who fully delivered everything that was promised.

I would recommend this company to friends, family and local businesses looking for solar panels.

I had two accounts which built up credit of over £1000 in less than 2 years, however SO energy kept £600 as a contingency and refused to pay it back even though my direct debits were clearly too high. It’s MY money which should in my bank account earning me interest not them. Customer response was extremely poor and slow. They are clearly struggling. My complaint was unresolved so only action I could take to get my money back was to switch and pay the cancellation fee. Annoyed!!

This company is a joke! I ended up spending 4 x more than before having solar panels installed

This company are are total disgrace. We were told that my 82 year old mother in law was eligible for a new boiler, under floor insulation and loft insulation.
The latter two jobs were carried out as they said, but when it came to fitting the boiler we were told that we would need to first ask a builder to cut a hole in the downstairs bathroom so that a workman could fit the flue.
We agreed to do this, but were left thinking had the job been assessed properly this could have been avoided.
I tried to get this company to ask the so called fitter to clarify exactly what was required of the builder so that we did not make any mistakes only to be told by an incompetent representative by the name of Leah that the engineer would get back to me.
Having waited all day and after several calls I recieved a text saying that they could no longer do the job as it was to much work and was not covered under the scheme.
I could not believe what I was hearing. After the job had been signed off, the fitter also having told us what we needed to do in order to complete this company refused to do the job.
When I complained I was told by the incompetent Leah that there was nothing they can do.
My mother in law was left stranded in a cold house alone by these charlatans
They have not heard the last of this. Avoid these fools like the plague.

At first, what a great deal to have solar panels fitted for free on the roof... what’s the catch? Nothing, until you face problems with your roof and have to remove the panels, wait 3-6 months before you can get an appointment for them to remove the panels + £1,000 DEPOSIT! The day before they come, they rang if we have provided them with health and safety? Or they cannot do it. Where were there months before this? Calling the DAY BEFORE REMOVING THE PANELS? For HEALTH AND SAFETY??! When you put it on where was the HEALTH AND SAFETY?

• You cannot remove the panels on their behalf as any damage they will charge/sue you for.

•You cannot take off the panels whenever you like to repair your leaking roof.

• they charge £1,000 deposit for they to remove the panels on YOUR HOUSE

• you HAVE to provide health and safety when there were none provided by them in the first place!

• you have to wait months to get the panels off, in the mean time your house could be full of water.

• customer service is poor and rude

Please avoid this company. We regret having the solar panels on our roof, although it was signed by the deceased.

Bought an Air Source Heat Pump form this company April 2017, tried for at least 12 months after installation to to fix my installation problems. The did not communicate with me about them and promised to get back to answer my queries. The company who they contracted was CGE Plumbing and Heating, who installed the pump, was just as bad, not using the correct insulation materials, outside and not using the correct size pipework and radiators for a small bore system. They filled the system up with antifreeze which was not to the correct saturation level as recommended by the Heat pump manufactures Mitsubishi. After 1 year trying to get either company to take responsibility I gave up and took out a service contract with Mitsubishi. If anyone is considering contacting these companies keep well away. Yesterday I received a letter form GEPS reminding me of my RHI obligations re annual service of the pump offering me a discount price, I leave it you all what my reaction has been.

They Rang Tuesday 28th of January arranged an appointment for 10am Friday The 31st of January nobody turned up spoke to them at 11am and they rebooked the appointment for Saturday 1 February at 10am and surprise surprise nobody turns up again total waste of space company is if they can’t even be bothered to turn up to quote for a job what hope have you got when you’ve paid them for the job of firstly getting it done or secondly actually having any repairs /remedial action done Total joke of the company

Bought the solar panels which are great. Promised follow ups which never happened. Promised vouchers as an apology, never happened. Came out and conned me into thinking I needed another part fitting which cost £1300. Apparently it doesn’t need it according to HIES consumer code. Mis-sold the finance agreement too. Again promised follow up and free service and cleaning of the panels but never saw them again. Quick at selling you stuff you don’t need but customer focus doesn’t exist.

Agree with what everyone else is saying here!
We have had the panels 5 years, all was ok until a lightning strike on the substation in the Midlands. It knocked out our generation meter. Had to pay £173 to have it replaced & also have lost the whole quarter of generation read which is another £250 approx. GEPS don't care, don't waste your time. Hopefully soon they will fold after reading all of these bad reviews. Don't touch them with a barge pole.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Was mis-sold these panels, and have now been diligently paying for them every month for 3 years. Initially incorrectly fitted, so that only took 12 months to sort. Have had ONE correct reading so far, the rest of the time these panels haven't been working. In essence, mis-sold, my electricity bill has more than doubled, and shocking customer service - there is none - they couldn't give a toss, because they've got your money. Panels are great, but not with this shower of crap, go to a proper company.

We have had nothing but trouble since the panels were installed in 2014 please be aware of this company. It appears the inverter that was installed in our property did'nt work at all. when we contacted the company they said the two year cover had run out but was willing to send an engineer out for a price £125 we paid it he came out looked at it looked, then looked at the paper work said it was still under guarantee. He then removed it and went away, we got in touch with a man called shoun, he said the company that made the inverter was in gemany and they had to go through the procedures. That was over a month ago, got in touch today 7th March still no joy, we have given them a dead line of one week.
If we could afford it we would have paid for a new inverter, but after paying at least six grand, it sort of hurts we have not benefited from these solar panels at all I would suggest do your home work, research it and if you are still not sure don't have solar panels. I would hate to think other people are suffering due to this companies behavour. It sort of puts a black mark on the other companies. I am sure there is a duty of care here.

This is my own personnel view with dealings with GEPS following 3 years of two and fro regarding the solar panels installed in 2013.

We have suffered extensive roof leaks and loss, in this time to the property due there installation incompetence, along with the incorrect Inverter installed for the roof arrays sold. single installed, which should have been 2 way system.

They made no effort to come an investigate the issue, after numerous calls emails and legal letters.

A lot of money spent on Legal fees to date and 3 years of stress.

In the end we lost in court, by a very good brief for the defendants involved. Finding the smallest holes in the expert reports, of which we relied as advised.

The Judge did award the cost of the inverter, which was the wrong one for our arrays installed, but cost to reinstall correctly were not awarded, We were awarded some of the loss income for about 6 months, when the system was been shut down 18 months ago.

My personal view, anyone should avoid of dealing with this company for Solar Panel Systems.

It could cost you a lot of money and heartache, from my experience.

I have years of cost ahead, not look forward too.

Many many others on trust pilot and google concur, not only on solar systems installed,

Don’t be taken in by the gloss given by the salesman,

My advice simply avoid.Green Energy power Solutions.

Update 19/6/19.
We have had apply back to the court, as they have not payed what was awarded disagreeing with some of the figure.

Update:25/9/19 they have finally paid up, but only enough to as the court order to enable us to reinstall the system, working well now. I would highly recommend Richard Butler of Generation electrical, who identified the issues when the problems started. he has allowed to to pass his number on 07967 141258. Richard is highly qualified in Solar and carries full certification and 5 stars, very highly qualified. we now have a system that works as it which should have done in the first place installed by the Green Energy Circus Clowns.

We are still out of pocket by around 6K in lost energy and damage to the property.

AVOID SCAM THEY RIP PEOPLE OFF COWBOY COMPANY DONE A JOB OVER CHARGE ME AND PLEASE AVOID SCAMER

Had the misfortune of believing what I was told after being cold called. Didn't get an A star energy rating as promised, in fact got an E. Total waste of money. Customer service non existand. Only want your money.

Had solar panels fitted in June 2016 anf still in battle, trying to rake our money back. Irresponsible mistakes due to sertification regarding ofgems rules which resulted FIT return rates. Totally missold due to exaggerated financial returns. Very poor customer service. Being very stressful trying to recover our "investment." Will take us a life time to get our money back never mind "investment". It was a big mistake. Very angry customers.

Has anybody had any joy when complaining and has anybody had any miss selling complaints upheld? Thanks in advance

Wouldn’t trust this company at all they have not returned any of my calls when I phoned, I’ve emailed so many times too & customer service is really poor.

My payments are down from what we are told by the sales guy and eventualy spoke to a supervisor who promises to rehimberse the amount we were down on our RHI by £830 this has not happened.

We are using 3 times more electric than we was prior to this been fitted & cant afford to run it it’s leaving us in debt with energy company & no one has been out to look at settings as to why it’s using so much electric as promised.

I asked about the remote access as soon as it was fitted & phoned straight away too & got no joy there either so can’t Control it remotly.

3 months down the line my metering & monitoring hasn’t been sorted either so I’m down £1600 on that too & paying a loan of £212 for something that’s worse than my gas boiler & costing 3 times more to run on top of all that.

I would think twice before using this company.

A dodgy cowboy of a company! I had installed - Solar Panels, Air Source Heating, new windows and doors and a hot tub.

- They fitted my FiT meter far too high for me to read, so I have to get step ladders out to read it. By law, they have to fit it in a place where you can easily take a reading from it.

- Air Source Heating I am meant to be able to control this remotely (which I was told so by a sales rep), but this function never got fitted.

- One hell of a draft from one of my new windows.

- They found it perfectly acceptable to leave a power cable going to my hoy tub trailing along my garden. Talk about Health and Safety!

I have sent 4 letters of complaint and as of yet, I have not had a reply.
