Too many issues in a short space of time

I joined Penfold through a referral promotion and unfortunately, the experience from start to finish was frustrating.

I had to manually chase the referral bonus as it wasn't applied automatically. Then, several weeks later, a duplicate referral bonus was added to my account in error. I proactively contacted Penfold to report this, at which point I was told the issue would be investigated.

Over the following seven weeks, I received repeated messages stating that the matter was still being looked into, before eventually being informed that the duplicate referral was due to a technical issue on their side and it would be removed from my account.

What I found disappointing was the overall handling of the situation. As a customer acting honestly and transparently, I ended up spending a considerable amount of time chasing issues that should never have arisen in the first place. I received an apology from customer services, but after the amount of inconvenience involved, the response felt quite procedural rather than genuinely customer focused.

Unfortunately, the experience has left me with little confidence in the company and, rather than topping up my pension with Penfold, I will be moving it elsewhere.

Since joining they have been helpful and given advice. I have asked them to find my pensions which hasn't worked out very well. However that I think is the holder of the pensions making life difficult and possibly misleading people. The paper work I have passed on was correct when given to me but now I want it it is incorrect!

Update

Update : Penfold has still not refunded me back the money they stole from me neither have they responded to my complaint. I will be going to the financial ombudsman.
