Lebanon Giant

I go to the giant on Quentin Road in Lebanon, Pa. The store may be clean but is so old and worn looking you can’t tell. They are frequently out of stock of various items throughout the store. They don’t carry certain quality items like the imported Parmesan cheese, they don’t have a good variety of gluten free products, too much junk food especially candy which they have a display you pass after going in before you even get to the produce section. I feel bad for parents with small children because that’s the first thing they see. Not a great selection of red meat although they do have good ground beef choices. Their prices are what you would expect with inflation being what it is. If I went in there for the first time I would probably think they might be going out of business. I gave it a year but think I have to take the majority of my business elsewhere.

I had the most awesome experience with Chris at the Online pick up order department at the Giant in Haymarket, Merchants View Plaza today. I was missing an item from my online order and had just come from the doctor dealing with knee issues, he went above and beyond to be sure the item I needed was included in my purchase without me having to retrieve with my knee issues. I want to thank Chris for his amazing customer service. This occurred at around 5:30-6:00 today, August 1.

giant Food associate who might as well be the chip

I went you your Giant Food Location in Derwood Md today and checked out at 5:48pm, per the receipt. Due the self check out process one of the items that I rung up was a different price then when I checked the price using the Giant app. The item was sitting on the shelf near the utensils in the baking isle above a tag that showed a price of $2.06, but on review was for a measuring cup. I didn't see another item anywhere in that area to find a price. So I used the price checking option on the app, and whats shown a price of $4.22. The item was a strainer that was made out of metal screen and back plastic, and there was simmilar strainers but smaller in a set for sell for around $5.50 so the price the app gave stemmed approrate in comparison. But when I went to pay a different prince of $6.62 was what it rang up as with a sale price of $6.02. I asked for help and the associate who came to help didn’t know what to do so she proceeded to get a manager I assume. At that time the manager approached me and I showed him the price that came up on the app and he advised me that my choices were to either pay the price that it rang up at or he could take it off order. He did ask me something so you were asking me to do what and I said match the price by reducing it to $4.22. The reason I was so adamant about this was because I had used $6.00 of my Giant rewards to be able to purchase this along with another item that was $2.99. unfortunately I was on an addition to pay the $6.02 amount that the representative had advisory is my only option so I had to have him remove it from my order. Which then forced me to use that giant grocery reward on food items that recovered by my EBT card. Which I find unacceptable. I went to great links to ensure that this would not be a problem I'm gonna make sure I had the proper amount of money checked the price and even cash in my rewards so that I would not have any issues then I get to the register ring everything up and I have an issue because your app is faulty or your customer service is bad and also your employees can't put products back where they belong to customers know the actual price when they pick them up. Due to all this I was embarrassed I got my benefits of rewards improperly used and I was punished repeatedly. I also felt that customer service representative that helped me was very dismissive very rude and condescending. I'm not sure if it was a manager he was a Caucasian man probably in his 30s with brown hair middle size in had a chip on his shoulder. If you were looking for somewhere where you disrespected treat like crap and no one cares this is real. As a whole Giant Food has gone down Hill dramatically and they need help because they have poor customer service poor quality of food and poor choices. You would think the one thing they could get right would be customer support or Customer Service because regardless of what's going on we are the bread and butter not the bread and butter

2 workers with attitudes

I have been a customer of the giant store #353 for 24 yrs. I shop at least once a week and normally everyone is very friendly and helpful. On 7/13/25 I asked a young man who was stocking the shelves did he have a key to open a display case that has dove body wash in it. He said he would get someone for me.When he returned to tell me that someone was coming I heard a voice behind me yell "I am right here" so I said Loud enough for her to hear me "oh by" I am sorry I did not hear you. I thank the helpful and kind young man and follow her to the display case. The second incident happened at the check out counter. I live in Baltimore, MD and plastic bags are outlawed in our state . I had 2 bags I sat on the counter. Cashier Amonee told me with attitude that I would have to take everything out of my bags and put them on the counter which I proceed to do . Then she told me all I needed to do was put all the vegetables and fruits on the counter. Which meant I had to go in each bag and pull these items out. Normally the cashier tells me to keep the items in the bag and then ring the items up and then put them back in the bag. I did not mind her telling me to put the items on the counter but I did mind the manner in which she spoke to me. I did not appreciate either one of their actions. I stopped at the customer service desk to file a complaint but there was only one person there and she was busy. There was no need for either one of them to act that way and I don't appreciate it. Thank you.

Deep Concerns About Customer Service at…

Deep Concerns About Customer Service at 6223 Baltimore National Pike

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and growing frustration with the decline in customer service at your Rolling Road store, particularly in the bakery and pharmacy departments. As a loyal customer for over 35 years, I find myself at a complete loss as to what has happened to the store that was once a pleasant, welcoming, and service-oriented environment.

Over the decades, I have always chosen Giant because of the courteous staff and the high standards of service. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. In recent months, my shopping experience has consistently been marked by inattentiveness, indifference, and in some cases, outright rudeness. It now feels like I am a burden when I ask for help, rather than a valued customer.

The bakery department has become especially disappointing. There is rarely a manager available to answer questions or address concerns, and staff in the area often appear unmotivated or disengaged. On several occasions, I have asked for assistance only to be met with blank stares, shrugged shoulders, or the frustrating phrase, "I don't know." This is unacceptable, especially in a department that relies heavily on customer interaction and customization.

Equally troubling is that when I have attempted to escalate these concerns, the store manager has been repeatedly "unavailable," often reportedly stuck in the office and unable to assist. This suggests not only a lack of management presence on the floor but also a serious gap in leadership and accountability.

Giant has been a part of my family's shopping routine for decades, but if this level of service continues, I may have to seriously reconsider my loyalty. I am urging you to take this matter seriously and to investigate what has led to the deterioration of service at this store.

I hope to see positive changes soon, not only for my sake but for the many other long-time customers who, like me, still want to believe in the Giant brand.

Nice tricks bad service

Employee standing at customer service at 8:15 pm would not give rain check cause it was closed, said rudely.
Heavy advertising on well priced items that are not in stock and no way to get them. Nice trick.
Any wonder you get one and half stars?Trying to be smart about shopping for family these days and have avoided Giant now I remember why.

My neighbors call the Giant in Newtown…

My neighbors call the Giant in Newtown Square "Bad Giant." We all live 8-10 minutes from the store but drive another 10 minutes to shop elsewhere. We have a Whole Foods and shop there even though its much more expensive. Here is why we all call it "Bad Giant"...

1 checker at all times. Everything else is self-check. From time to time, it's 2 checkers. I asked the manager about this and he said he has to maintain profitability.

2. Very poor deli department due to lack of workers. At times, the deli is closed after 6:00 PM.

There are more reasons, but these are the top two my neighbors complain about.

There are very few customers in the store for good reason.

Dear Giant,

Dear Giant,
Please, look at the ingredient label of your brand 4% fat small curd cottage cheese!!! Except for the dairy and enzyme components, almost all the rest (6) are all triggered as probably or potentially harmful for humans. What a shame. I will never buy this product again and would advise anyone to do the same.

I especially wish to acknowledge Tyler- produce, Lisa & Gigi- floral, Teresa & Rasheen & others- check out, John,Ty, Trent, Lisa and Pat- deli. Thank you all! 👍🏻 I cannot pick one specific date but I had to, however every time I go there is phenomenally good in regards to the staff.

Giant Food is one of the pearls of our neighborhood. We have three. They adopt rapidly to our ever-changing diverse needs and offer the variety of foods you can't find elsewhere. This is extremely important around the holidays! Their prices are reasonable and sometimes downright unbelievably awesome. I stock up on things like corned beef when they put it on sale around easter time. Or Alaskan crab legs and other fresh seafood in the summer. The customer service is always friendly regardless of which department you're visiting. The bakery sells a "Chocolate Bomb" cake that gets rave reviews each time I've served it up to family and friends. Haven't found that cake anywhere else in any other grocery store.

The Giant Food Store in Pottsville, PA has got to be the best Giant anywhere. The customer service people are always friendly and do all that they can to help you. Also, they have the best donuts of any other Giant that I have been to.

Rude Service at the Olive Bar

I recently visited the olive bar at this store and had a very disappointing experience. I asked a staff member if I could try an olive before purchasing, just to know the taste, and was rudely told that I should buy first and then try. I understand if there’s a policy against sampling, but the way it was communicated was unprofessional and unwelcoming. Good customer service goes a long way, and unfortunately, this experience has made me decide to take my business elsewhere. I wouldn’t recommend shopping here if you value friendly and respectful service.

Giant Food Old Court Rd. Pikesville MD

Giant Food, with the narrower aisles, and “dividers” of unnecessary display boxes and products in the middle and ends of EVERY aisle, you risk hitting someone when you round almost every aisle due to their blind spots. Grocery shopping is bad enough. But what I'm NOT going to do at a grocery store? Utter 50 "s'cuse me's" as I pick up butter. Who wants to spend their energy having to "size up" the mood, temperament, disposition and attitude before deciding if it's "safe" to utter a "pardon me”. Each time I was looking at cereal, a cut of beef, or the best-looking smoked turkey necks, I had to move forward and away from what I was looking at, because there was no room for anyone to get around me.
My tape shows how the store has narrowed its aisles, making it hard to navigate the store without constantly bumping into other carts or having to spend time waiting to get around a cart. I have had to put up with so many changes at this store, since it was affectionately called the “Gucci Giant”. Last year I accepted the store now has scales to weigh groceries at the register. It let me know that incidences of theft have increased. But I'd always had an enjoyable experience, even with the increased "security". I'd never had a negative experience, so I was never hindered at shopping here. But TODAY?!! Giant owes me an apology for speaking me in a very derogatory manner and threatening to touch my purse and put me out of the store for NO just cause. I did not commit a crime. In a video I was expressing my exasperation at the new, awful, crowded design. Yes, the CHEAP doors on both sides of the dairy and breakfast meats aisles was not thought-out. When you add two aisles of people and carts, its mass congestion.
This is the first major establishment I will no longer visit, because of its poor decision-making skills. Any executive within The AHOLD Companies should question the basic thinking skills for all who signed off on making this store a battlefield of angry customers who can’t shop proficiently because of the narrow spaces, especially when the shelves are being stocked.
