Many note that the equipment works well initially and installation can sometimes be a smooth process. Some reviewers were happy with the helpful support they received after finally connecting with specific representatives. Don't buy this system if you expect customer support

When you decide on who to spend your many thousands of pounds on getting solar/batteries/ashp make sure you research the level of customer support. Remember this will be the equivalent of your boiler and electricity. You will base your tariff on your system too. So when it stops working and there is no customer support it will make you very annoyed.

Non-Existent Support

I have phoned the support line on a number of occasions and spoke to Rachel the AI robot who is full of apologies and sympathy and says she will escalate the issue urgently and an engineer will phone back. It is now about a month and I have no phone calls back. I also wrote an email and got a report number and was advised they will get in touch in about 5 working days -again it has been over a month with no reply. I thought a 12-year warranty was going to give me piece of mind against problems. I am bitterly disappointed.

No customer service just AI

No customer service just AI. If you’re thinking of buying and inverter or battery my advice is don’t. This company seems to have lost its way.

Do not buy this product

Do not buy this product, we spent thousands of pounds on solar and battery system a few years ago and it’s has stopped working, we tried to contact @GivEnergy so many times and nobody has responded, spoke to the installer and even they have had no response from them, it’s down to their system update that has caused the problem and yet they won’t respond or fix the issue, please avoid the company or anyone who is installing their product, you will regret it in the long run

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY

Just beware of this company if something goes wrong with your solar or battery storage you will be out on a limb with no support at all!
Been calling, emailing with no return calls for over a month absolutely shocking and total lack of customer support, also see the reviews on Google you will get the picture, I would seriously consider alternative products, give these clowns a wide birth.

Horrendous company. No customer support at all.

Our battery was installed in February 2025. In January 2026 it went offline for no apparent reason. I contacted GivEnergy helpline, spoke to a Bot which was anything but helpful but got a ticket number. Then followed a frustrating month of receiving emails with the same generic response, full of gobbledygook tech jargon which was supposed to help me get back online. As I am not a technical engineer I didn’t understand any of it, persisted with emails and eventually got through to Callum who sent me more ‘self-help’ instructions that were unsuccessful.
At the beginning of the process, I was told to contact my installer and was assured that labour and any parts would be covered by warranty. My problem was that our installer sadly went out of business just before Christmas so I was unable to contact them. I did however suggest another local GivEnergy installer that we had previously used for solar panel installation. Initially, they said that would be ok and they would contact them and get the problem fixed. Nothing happened. After four frustrating weeks of emails and calls trying to get this organised, the final email from Callum said,
“ 1..We dont pay for companies to do work
2. While we can see you are having difficulty remaining connected to the gateway, we have not been able to run any tests on the AIO too confirm what is at fault there. There are a multitude of reasons as to why the AIo may not proadcast its SSID, ssutkc firmware or the anteneae coming loose comes to mind
3. With both kits having separate network modules, too see both kits go offlinedoes not indicate a hardware issue; this would fall down to the router OR the device being used to configure the unit.
As the network engineer for the team, i have seen a fair few times that iPhones do have some level of diffiuclty however i was trying not to be accusatiry to this of all things.
If the unit goes idle with no network connection, it does fall within expectations of needing either a full shutdown and reboot OR a factory reset. Further, further this this there could be stuck firmware on the internal storage on the AlinOne and gateway; this itself does not fall under product failure, as it can itself be cleared.
As with any other case, if the original installation team as gone out of business and a new team/engineer in general is required to solve the issue then we are not wholly responsible for that work. In pertains to this case, we can't track any context, anything leading up to the fualt or if this may potentially come into fault again if we were to provide new hardware. we dont have enough data, and the ability to come to the site ourselves is severely hampered at the moment due to a backlog of visits
At this time, we are hard-pressed to provide a solution as we dont know the cause. At this time, if the other team wanted to come out and check things over, then that discussion would be between you, and them i hate to say, same as with any other case around the UK”.
In other words, (if you can follow any of that), we’ve been dumped. No warranty, no responsibility, no help. Absolutely gobsmacking, the lack of customer support and the lies I was being told that help to get us back online was being organised. None of it was true.
We now have a one-year-old £7K white elephant sitting on our property and the supplier of the equipment has absolved itself of all responsibility. I wrote to the Director and, no surprise from this company, got no response. They really don’t deserve to be in business.

Ongoing problems with inverter and…

Ongoing problems with inverter and battery inform by Eon system software not undated since 2024, battery not holding charge. Text messages sent almost everyday for the two asking for information advise and support to no avail. Telephone contact almost impossible local heating company attempted contact on my behalf with the same result.. Claims to be a caring organisation most have missed something. Waiting in hope that someone will make contact but will not count on it. My advise currently is think twice before spending your hard earned money, if the government is encouraging people to go green then they need to get to grip with company’s like this

Product excellent, technical support appears under resourced

When it works the product is excellent; however it is incredibly difficult to contact technical support when there is an issue. I have had two days of Whattsapp messaging saying:

"All of our team are currently assisting other customers, please message us again shortly"

This message is repeated every 30 minutes, starting at 09:00 when they come online.

I replaced my internet router on…

I replaced my internet router on 16/12/2025. It has taken over two months to re-connect my solar inverter to my WIFI. GivEnergy were incredibly difficult to contact. The customer telephone AI assistant says it will connect to someone who will help & then cuts the call?
I eventually managed to arrange for Owen at GivEnergy to telelphone me. It took around 10 minutes to complete the task. Owen was very helpful.
GivEnergy need to understand that not all of their end users are solar engineers! The customer service must be improved.

Callum Wilkinson, 5 star for the Gentlemen services.

Dear CALLUM WILKINSON,

Thank you so very much for your outstanding support and a down to earth attitude towards customers.
I'm glad GivEnergy have peoples like you.

My inverter is now operational and working perfectly normal. Without your support I couldn't have set it up.

It has been sitting in my garage for almost 17 months. You set it up for us and help us every step of the way.

You have undoubtedly restored my faith in GivEnergy.

Thank you.

Try calling the help desk before you buy

Before you consider buying a GivEnergy product, try (1) phoning up their help desk. You’ll find you won’t get past a chatbot. (2) raising a ticket requesting support. You’ll find it will never gets answered.

I’ve bought a battery and inverter have issues with MODBUS lockups and there is no support. I regret buying their equipment.

With this level of support I predict this company won’t exist in the next couple of years.

Constant issues with the hardware. The portal software never works. Absolutely zero support, do they even have any technical support engineers working? Do yourself a favour and stay away from GivEnergy.

GivEnergy customer service

I've had an issue with my system for over a week and customer service is very poor. I've emailed and called but no one has responded to date. Today when I called, the AI called Rachel says it will transfer my call but ends the call. I have no way to get a response from GivEnergy. This happened previously and it took over 2 weeks for a response. Poor experience again.

Ongoing Warranty Dispute and Extremely Poor Support – 6 Months Without Resolution

My experience with GivEnergy has been extremely disappointing and continues to cause unnecessary stress.
My AIO internal Wi-Fi board failed after just 1.5 years. For the past six months, I have been trying to resolve this issue. Despite repeated emails and attempts to use WhatsApp support, there has been no proper resolution.
Their WhatsApp support is effectively unusable. Almost every time I attempt to contact them, I receive the automated message:
"All of our team are currently assisting other customers. Please message again shortly."
This happens consistently, making it nearly impossible to reach anyone.
On 26th November, my installer attended site and recommissioned the system with direct support from GivEnergy’s technical team. At that time:
GivEnergy confirmed the system was operational
The external Wi-Fi dongle was working
The internal Wi-Fi module was confirmed faulty
I was informed that GivEnergy would arrange for one of their engineers to attend and resolve the internal Wi-Fi issue
I was later told that GivEnergy would deal with me directly regarding the Wi-Fi module.
However, months later, I received a response from their Senior Tech Leads stating that the Gateway must be commissioned and online for the warranty to remain valid, and that a site visit would not be applicable due to “current business levels” and “incomplete commission.”
This is extremely concerning. The system was commissioned with their own support team present remotely. Now the responsibility is being shifted back to the installer, and warranty conditions are being cited as justification for not addressing what appears to be a hardware failure within the warranty period.
From a customer perspective, this feels like an attempt to avoid honouring warranty obligations rather than providing technical support.
After investing significant money in what is marketed as a premium system, I expected professional after-sales service and accountability.
As this matter has now been ongoing for six months without resolution, I will be contacting the appropriate regulatory bodies to seek clarification on warranty obligations and will consider further legal action if necessary.
I cannot recommend GivEnergy based on my experience with their support and warranty handling.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, failure to reply to any emails or automated contact calls. Luckily our installers Econrg of Modbury in Devon have been exceptional in helping us to push Givenergy. Still waiting for a resolution to a failed inverter.

Horrendous- avoid.

Our battery won't turn on at all, and has been like this for a number of weeks- but we can't get further than an AI call. We don't even get the follow up email with a reference number on it...
Prior to that, our battery was great and the installer was good, but we never had to contact the company themselves- we're 3 years in and have a 10 year guarantee but have no idea how to get someone to help us. We have contacted the centre many times, and emailed the ceo, to no avail. It's appalling that a company can do this with such an expensive item, which we relied on to power the house.

Dreadful aftercare

One star is probably too many stars to award. The system was fitted fine and apart from a couple of issues has worked fine for 2 years. Then last November the panels and battery stopped working. This was reported to Givenergy and was constantly chased via emails - you cannot call the technical team and at last today I was meant to have a technician visit to repair. I stayed home all day having to reschedule my own client meetings to make sure someone was available. At 3;45 I got an email advising that they would not be attending today and would reschedule. Apparently 11 weeks is perfectly normal to have to wait. I have no idea how much longer I will have to wait but don't expect this company to fix any issues you may have quickly.

Utterly impossible to get hold of…

Utterly impossible to get hold of anyone at Givenergy to discuss a problem with their existing PV system. WhatsApp contact only with no phone or email option to escalate is simply insulting to customers. Other manufacturers manage to provide good and effective end-user support ... what has gone so badly wrong at Givenergy? Cannot possibly recommend them to anyone. So much for trading on their "Great British" ticket

Non-existent service

6Non-existent service. My batteries went flay over Christmas and would not take a charge. Previously this has been cured by Givenergy doing a remote charge/discharge and calibration cycle.
I tried phoning many times at the end of December and throughout January. There is an AI voice response which repeatedly promised a call back to help, but no one ever called. I tried to make a complaint but that was ignored too. Eventually we had to pay a local engineer to come out and fix the problem. It cost us over £500. Disgraceful lack of support from Givenergy help line. I would definitely not buy from them again and do not recommend that anyone use this company.
