Just had a great experience at Pollok…

Just had a great experience at Pollok Library. Asked for a book about woke culture, which wasn't in stock. The lady I spoke to said that she would see if the book could be bought in for me . Didn't expect that !

She suggested an alternative and went and got it off the shelves for me. Didn't expect that either !

What a great service !

Didn't get the assistants name.

The concept of Glasgow Life is good, however…

The concept of Glasgow Life is good. However, senior specialist staff are too lazy and unprofessional to respond to genuine requests for information, or subject-specific research enquiries. This makes a mockery of the whole process. The generic info email address is a useless waste of time. In over five years of trying, I have never once received a reply! And to think that most salaries of Glasgow Life staff are paid for by the taxpayer is appalling. Time Holyrood and Glasgow city council took decisive and pro active action.

Pathetic Booking System

Just tried to book tickets for Katherine Jenkins, got Queue-It page with 235 in queue, waited 10 minutes, it went to the end then NOTHING! No redirection to site or anything! Pathetic! It would be bad enough but this is the second time booking with Glasgow Life has been a problem - no more, going elsewhere from now on.

Don’t book here !!

I booked and paid £48.36 for a ticket to experience Jim Hensons Labyrinth at Glasgow Royal Concert hall.
I was aware of the booking terms and conditions at time of booking, however my family circumstances have now changed and I am no longer able to make the date.
Sent an email explaining circumstances to this site - who claim to be a charity!!- reply was “can’t do anything.
Circumstances change, life is unpredictable, what an unforgiving company this is. Will never deal with them, use them for a booking not recommend them to anyone- ever.
I actually cannot believe the response I got from this “charity “ and am very saddened with the reply!
Shame on you Glasgow Life.

Filth and decline

Glasgow Club at Gorbals is rapidly declining the standards of hygiene are non existent, staff and uninterested and don’t act on filth and squalor in all areas of the leisure centre. Machines are off line and caked in dust and dried bodily fluids. Lockers contain debris and rubbish - staff appear to stand about and not actually support the maintenance and hygiene of the premises. Better alternatives locally, that are cleaner, friendly, well maintained and cheaper per month.

Kelvingrove Bandstand

Saw Future Islands at Kelvingrove Bandstand and the venue I am told is run by Glasgow Life. The whole experience was fantastic from the venue to the toilets to the vendors. Well done Glasgow Life!

Glasgow Life do not refund booking fees…

Glasgow Life do not refund booking fees if they cancel an event. These booking fees are not nominal. I paid almost £24 for 4 tickets and the event was cancelled within 2 weeks of booking the event. The ticket office have advised the fee will not be refunded. Customers should be aware that they may lose their money through no fault of their own.

Old Fruit Market - Don't Get Upstairs Tickets

Old Fruit Market, Glasgow - Don't Get Upstairs Tickets because they often over-subscribe and if you don't get there early enough, you literally cannot see the show. I would estimate that there were ~ 30 people who could not see the singer (Weyes Blood). If you get to stand against the upstairs railing, it is a fantastic view, but if you are not against the railing, then the security team constantly make you step back from behind the people at the railing (to quite rightly unblock the passage ways) but then you cannot see the stage.

Fraudulent charge of £2200 charged to my credit card!

I purchased tickets for a concert recently and Glasgow life or someone linked to the site tried to charge an extra £2200 to my credit cards! You need to up the security on your website as soon as possible! Thankfully my credit card company caught the fraud but not everyone will be that fortunate.

good library

I don't know what I would do without Hillhead Library. Such a great place and friendly, helpful staff. Computers can be a bit slow at times, but that's the only downside.
