Very professional and respectful
Posting this here as I see they somehow blocked people from seeing it on Google:
Very professional and respectful staff, refused to budge on the price but assured me the car is in exceptional condition, as in the many pictures they took showcasing this. Paid a deposit and went to collect the car. I got there 1 hr after their closing time, but one of the Directors so kindly waited for me to do the handout. Unfortunately I wasn't possible to drive the car more than 5 minutes at slow speeds due to the lateness but they were very persuasive and made me feel at ease and confident that, should something happen, they are interested in customer satisfaction first and foremost. I paid the car and left.
On my way back I noticed the car is pulling to the left and also tyre pressure monitor sensor came on twice, saying I have a flat tyre (despite them all being fine).
I took her home slowly and next day I went in for a check ...all 4 wheels had cracks, 3 of them already being welded previously, but cheaply ...they were full of deep scratches on the front and the cover-up paint was flaking. More serious than this was one of the front shocks being torn from what looked like an exploded tyre (the car is on Air Suspension and the shocks have rubber air bags) - needless to say I was concerned and immediately contacted them, they were so kind as to refund some of my money to put towards fixing the wheels and the driver seat heating which was also not functioning despite the car being advertised as "faultless". I was a bit concerned when they tried to make me put in writing the phrase "I accept this offer as a full and final offer for the vehicle X", but instead I said "I accept this partial refund for fixing items Y and Z on vehicle X" and thought nothing more of it...
Got the wheels balanced, aligned, and all was good with the world, seemingly.
Fast forward a week, when coming back to London from Ipswich on the A12, the car almost threw me in the dividing road barrier while in a bend.
Mind you, I usually drive at 50-60 mph speeds, but that night I was doing 70. I did notice the car is "wobbly", squeamish, while changing lanes, but I said that might be the uneven road surface of the A12. Still, when it almost threw me off the road, I had to have it checked.
Booked in next day at a Mercedes dealership for a full health check, the technicians spent 3 hours on the car and came back with a eye watering quote to fix all what was wrong with the car.
At this point I was emotionally invested in the vehicle but I phoned Global Automobiles with my best "poker face" voice, saying I want to return the vehicle when in fact I was looking for an apology and for a refund that would make things right (mind you, the vehicle's trade market value was 6k and I bought it with 16k believing their add which read "faultless" and "exceptionally well looked after").
The response I was met with was far from what I was looking for, they refused to consider a refund and said they're not looking to buy the vehicle back because it is no longer a 1 owner vehicle.
Interestingly, that was a lie. The DVLA had confirmed multiple times on recorded calls that my name is "nowhere to be found in connection to the vehicle", so actually the vehicle was still registered to Global Automobiles and they were lying to me, refusing to take the vehicle back under false claims.
I sought legal council and contacted them on the 31st of January.
New V5 was issued on the 1st of February.
I am currently waiting to go to Court against these people but I am experiencing financial difficulties due to the high unplanned expenses I have after dealing with such thugs !
Shame GLOBAL AUTOMOBILES, shame! Especially “junior” the swindler.
I advise any new customer(s) to BE CAREFUL WITH THESE PEOPLE !
Responsibly,
