Company has got too big. It was a small friendly helpful broker when we started doing business six or seven years ago.
Insured three family members cars with them for years. But they have turned into a different company with poor customer service. Twenty minutes listening to a machine before being answered and renewal quotes have gone through the roof. Time to move on.
Matt at GMIB provided excellent customer service. He went out of his way to help and made the whole experience smooth and easy. Really appreciate the extra effort—highly recommended.
Good communication from the team,
I was contacted next day on WhatsApp and all processed within a few days good experience overall
I’ve previously given this company a 5 star review but this time around I’d give it zero if I could. My sons renewal came in today and it’s at least €500 more than last years I rang up & queried this and the fella on the phone said it’s probably because of my sons “Illness” he’s deaf it’s a disability not an illness.. he suggested I get a letter from a GP to say he’s fit to drive ( this would be his 3rd year on his own insurance)
.. I never had a problem using this company before . But the Guy I was talking to needs retraining it’s the second time in a week I’ve been on to him and his attitude stinks. I’m genuinely furious with referring to my sons Disability as an illness he has the use of cochlear implants I’ve gone to another broker and got his insurance for €500 cheaper and they said they’ve never had a situation where an insurance company would hike someone’s premiums for a Disability
⬇️ From the Equality Act
In Ireland, insurers cannot legally charge higher premiums or refuse coverage based solely on disability. Policies should cover vehicle modifications (e.g., ramps, hand controls), and specialist insurers often provide tailored, cost-effective coverage. Disabled drivers may also qualify for tax relief on vehicles and adaptations.

I dealt with a lovely salesman who was very thorough and easy to deal with
As someone taking out insurance for the first time, Tomas at GMIB was very helpful, giving me great advice and finding a reasonable price, explained everything in detail while making my experience much simpler and easier to understand.
Thank you Tomas and GMIB team!!
There was an issue with the monthly payments app, I had paid my deposit and set up monthly payments. The app wasn’t working I was contacted a few times and I also rang the office a few times. I was told a number of time of the app is down don’t worry your still insured we’ll get this sorted only to come home from holiday and a few days later check the mail box to receive a cheque for half the amount deposit I paid, and the insurance cancelled my policy so was driving around without insurance for over a week unknown to me,
Customer service wasn’t great not helpful, no one took accountability and who ever called me back was quite rude.
Had to pay the full amount there and then to get insured, I didn’t have time to ring around so had to pay it,
nice and high efficiency works ,Tomas got extra discount for me ,an old bmw with a learner permit
Take far too long to answer the phone lines, had to go out my way to go into the office which was not one bit friendly or welcoming.
I was waiting in queue and someone was served that came in after myself.
Not one bit helpful at the desk.

Recently had the pleasure of dealing with DJ in gmib. To say he was a pleasure to deal with would be an understatement, he was prompt professional and very well educated on his job. Could not recommend him and gmib enough, top class.

Be very careful using this broker. I had a policy in place June 2025, they were audited so got in touch to ask for documents. Was passed from pillar to post on this, with some very unhelpful replies from members of their team. Finally it was decided that I needed to have a different policy in November.
Agree a new policy in November 2025.
Fast forward nearly two months later and I get a refund for the amount of my original policy.
Called up to enquire why I had got the refund. It turned out that instead of initiating a new policy following our call in November, the old policy was cancelled. I had zero notification of this and was driving for 2 months without insurance. And it took them 2 months to issue the refund that alerted me to that fact. Appalling!
So, stupidly, I agreed to a new policy with them on 16th January 2026. Realised after 2 weeks I hadn't received any paperwork - though money had been taken from my account. Rang up again, they had put the incorrect name on my policy, the wrong email address on my account and had failed to supply the insurer with the requested documents - which they already had in their possession. Jack O'Sullivan today, has promised to print everything himself and send it out to me.
Just avoid, unless you are prepared to be totally on top of making sure they do what they say they will do.
