I attempted to purchase an e-reader. The company never delivered it. They never responded to a single email I sent. I had to recover my money via PayPal. Do not purchase from this company!

Horrible customer service; they owe me $700

I bought a Boox tablet, which cost me $723 CAD all in. The product was taking longer to receive than what was initially estimated, so I emailed to inquire about the delay (had contact with Jana from the sales department).

I was eventually directed to Jon Singleton, the "logistics specialist" in the shipping department. I asked to cancel the order, and was told that the product was suddenly already shipped and couldn't be cancelled. I was told to reject the parcel in order to get a refund.

I did reject the parcel, and have DHL's confirmation that the shipment was returned on June 14th. I waited almost a month and followed up with both Jana and Jon re: the refund, and was asked to provide tracking info re: the item, on July 12th. The next day, I sent them screenshots from DHL showing the item had been returned to them on June 14th. Since that email, I haven't heard back at all.

I sent follow-up emails on June 20th and August 4th, with no response. I fully understand that it's the summer, so these types of things can move slowly, however to not even have a response from either individual over the course of a month, and to STILL not have my refund, no less, is unacceptable.

What's even shadier is that they have removed the order from the "my orders" section of my account. I wish I'd listened to all of the people on Onyx Boox Reddit who said to never buy from this company.

Never delivered the product

Never delivered the product. Ignored communications from me about the product. It's been almost two months and no word on when I will receive it. Lies about having the product when in reality they're a dropshipping company that isn't even good at dropshipping. They buy alternative domains/brands as well to hide who they are. Just buy from ebay. More protections and communications.

I did not get my item but the refund was fast…

I did not get my item after a month so I gave up. The refund was fast so one extra star. I really hope you guys figures out how to ship faster. I enjoy the youtube channel and I like that you are putting a spotlight on e-readers but please figure out how to run the business better. Best wishes

Overall bad customer service

Took almost a month to ship something that said in-stock and will ship in 24hrs. Tried canceling order they just ignore my messages. Now item has been sitting a customs in canada for weeks because I'm not paying $100 in import fees for something I no longer want. Overall, very bad customer service.

Don't buy from them

Don't buy from them. They send you the wrong items, say that you ordered the wrong item even though you send proof of the items in their website.
then, they ghost you , no resolution.

Order still stuck at 'processing'

My order was not shipped and has been stuck on 'processing' for two full weeks now. All attempts to contact the people running the store has been met with radio silence. This looks to be a bunch of people who have no idea how to run this business. It looks like they started this business because of their passion for e-readers. Well.. it would seem that passion is not enough. They seem to lack all practical abilities to run this business.. apart from the accepting payment part. In my opinion, I think they should not be taking on any new customers and instead gracefully wind down their business by completing the orders they have already taken money for. Doing anything else is just digging yourself into an even deeper hole, you guys are clearly over your heads!

Incompetent

Do not buy from this company. They are useless and try and turn everything back on their customers. Just look at their comments, always gaslighting the issue. I had to fight, repeatedly send emails to then and at times they were heated. They have zero, and I mean ZERO respect for how a business is supposed to be run. I filed a complaint with the BBB after being given the runaround and finally got a refund for one of the products when I order two and wished to be refunded for both. They refused to refund the second product because they said I was aggressive.
Learn how to run a business and maybe you wouldn’t have to deal with aggressive behaviour.
You’re all like a bunch of incompetent toddlers who have no idea what they are doing.

If anyone truly respects themselves I would suggest flying to china to pick up your own product from their so called warehouse. You’d actually get your product and would have to deal with such an amateurish fake company.
Maybe a little news story about shady business practices would shake you guys up a bit.

Delay shipping time and no communication

On their website they stated order will be shipped out within 3-5 days, this is false, it has been 10 days without any update on shipping.

Product not shipped even after one month of order placed

i have ordered Onyx Boox Tab Ultra C - 10.3-inch Kaleido 3 color e-note on 23.05.23 having order I'd #351751 but it is showing order in processing till date, no status changed from last almost one month and now these days I am not getting any reply from customer care side as i don't want Product, i want my money back. Totally pissed off with good e reader team.

Avoid this scammy company!!

As many other reviewers have noted, this site is basically operating a scam. They're a dropshipper -- you'll be charged by a Canadian company, but your order will be fulfilled from China, Taiwan or Hong Kong.

This means that you will very likely get your item at a cheaper price on AliExpress or similar. There are no consumer protections conferred by using Good E-Reader: if you read their (illegal) terms and conditions, you'll see that if any problems occur with your device, you're expected to ship it back to Asia at your own expense -- note that this will include any taxes levied, which can be considerable.

Further, many customers have reported significant difficulties receiving support from the company -- in other words, good luck getting a return authorization. The only way to deal with them appears to be to threaten them, and in order to do this, you need to make sure you buy the item using a credit card company who will support a chargeback claim. A number of people have said threatening a chargeback is the only way to get service.

I should point out that it took me quite a bit of sleuthing to find this guy's real address in order to send the unit i bought back to him. The one they publish is made up -- not a good sign. Even then welched on his deal to cover my shipping & tax costs. In the end I was forced to do a chargeback.

Finally, the fella running this outfit is rather unhinged. He's clearly looking for a fight and slings insults without provocation. So you're likely to get a bunch of these as you pursue whatever restitution you're looking for.

In summary: do what everyone else is telling you. AVOID.

p.s. whatever this company says in reply, take my advice -- ignore it.

Beware - Scam/Fraud

Beware, this site appears to be mail fraud/scam.

When you order, they will send the wrong product and not communicate.

They stole several hundred dollars from me.

Communication could have been more…

Communication could have been more professional. It's not clear when ordering that the site functions as a third-party that will place orders on your behalf with the company that makes the device you are ordering. I ordered two devices from different companies thinking that they would both be shipped from Good E-Reader but two separate orders were placed on my behalf with their respective companies. One could be completed and the other could not. I did receive the one device in perfect conditions and it took about a month from order placed to received.

Delivery cost extreme for Netherlands

I don't like that I needed to pay FedEx additional 145 euro for delivery even if I already paid delivery 30 euro during ordering from GE-reader. So delivery was approx 180euro and I wouldn't purchase the device Onyx Boox ultra C if I knew that.
