We were so impressed with the excellent customer service we received today when we popped into this fabulous musical TARDIS (It's a lot bigger inside than you think it will be). The staff were soooo friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We came away with exactly what we wanted, having seen it well demonstrated. Nothing was too much trouble by all staff, especially Ellis. Thank you loads for giving us the gift of music and beaming smiles 🌞🌞🌞

What a fabulous experience visiting this shop. Every member of staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. We took an instrument they'd never heard of but they went above and beyond to sort us out with the right amp. Nothing was too much trouble. A truly excellent result. Thank you so much.

I purchased a new Yamaha piano from Shaun last week and am eagerly awaiting its arrival... He was very helpful, friendly, and showed me a few pianos to try out. A genuine guy, who clearly enjoys working there, is knowledgeable and is happy to help. If you are thinking about buying a Piano (or other instrument) then head over to Gough & Davy, you won't be disappointed.

I ordered an Acoustic Amplifier on line ( I live a long way from the shop!!). This was Sunday evening.

This particular amp was "pre owned" and was good for my budget.

Monday morning I got a phone call from Katie to say that they had tested the amp and it was not working properly, buzzing noises.

I expected her to offer me a refund but, no, she offered me a NEW one.

I asked how much extra that would be and she said it would be the same price.

To be honest, I was flabbergasted. What an amazing offer.

So, this was about 11am Monday morning.

Lunchtime on Tuesday I got a knock on the door from FedEx with my amp.

Just incredible.

Seriously, I cannot praise this company enough. They go above and beyond what would be called reasonable.

I just wanted to thank Shaun and the team for making one left handed player very happy! Left handed guitars are not easy to come by, so I was relying on good customer service in order to make an informed decision to purchase online. Shaun went out of his way to order my dream guitar from the manufacturer and have their in-house guitar tech set it up and check it over before shipping to me, and with peace of mind that I could return it for a full refund if it wasn’t my dream guitar. Super happy all round and would definitely recommend. Thanks again!

Recently visited with our grandson looking to purchase a guitar.
Oli the sales assistant took time with our grandson and
Spent about 1 hour showing various guitars,
We purchased one. And asked if he could recommend a hard case to accompany the said guitar.
Oli said he would give us a call when he found the case we wanted, he did this and called us couple of days later and we ordered it.the service was exceptional and made our purchase very easy and a pleasure to do business with gough and davy.

Dream come true!

That might seem like an exaggeration, but I was in the shop browsing with my partner with no real intention to buy and ended up leaving with a guitar that I've wanted since i was 15.

A nice gent approached us to see if he could help in anyway. As the three of us where appreciating the beautiful guitar on the wall, he offered a huge discount without us even asking. If not for him approaching and offering, I would have never got the guitar that I'm so happy with. There was absolutely no pressure, instead there was the opportunity to leave with something. I think every musician knows the feeling of walking into a shop, looking at what they wish they could get and leaving without it. Not this time though!

I can't recommend these guys enough, everyone is very welcoming and helpful. I'll absolutely be going back.

Called in as we were passing. We had been discussing buying a piano for a number of weeks. We were greeted by Shaun. There was no hard sell, just a knowledgeable and helpful service helping us to decide on the one that was right for us and our budget. To top it off, he did us a good deal too. I must say that every time I am In the shop the staff make you feel so welcome. They don't pressure you to buy anything but just encourage you to try before you buy.

The instruments are quality and Shaun and all the other staff on the shop floor are very knowledgeable.

Brought up in Hull, I’ve shopped in Gough and Davy from the days you’d go in to listen to the latest record or browse sheet music. Now I live a bit further away, I always pop in whenever I’m in the city. This week, I dropped in to look at a digital piano in the window. Every shop has to sell, but in Gough and Davy, the customer service is exceptional, with no pressure to buy and lots of impartial advice. I decided to part exchange my acoustic piano for a digital one and delivery and collection was arranged for the very next day. Fantastic store!
