The feedback was very helpful

The feedback was very helpful, to be honest I agreed with a lot of what they said about “If I’m Famous”. I am so glad they enjoyed “KILLN ME” though. I was bummed to see that it is no longer featured on the Spotify playlist anymore.

Hi Bobae,

Thanks for taking the time out to write us a review!
Our curators usually cycle between songs to keep the playlist fresh and we see your track was added for a minimum of 3 weeks on the playlist too. However, we'll talk to the curator and see if they can add your track for a little longer! Hope that helps, cheers :)

The quick response was amazing

The quick response was amazing! I love how you can tell they really listened to my track from the comments and suggestions they had for either denying or accepting a track! my first submission needed some work so I came back after taking their decision into consideration and it was accepted and added to a great playlist ! Cant explain how ecstatic I was and still am!

Legit, fair feedback, a bit expensive

Legit, a bit expensive. Your song is submitted to six curators, the feedback is fair, the placement is not guaranteed. A bit expensive to me to submit to six curators, but legit. I wasn't aware of how it functions and they offered 50% discount because of it.

Hey Luna,

We have 6 curators and yes, your music was sent to all of them for potential placement on their playlists. You're free to DM/email any of the curators on our platform if they gave your track a listen and the answer would be a Yes.

We haven't tried to scam anyone here, we've clearly said this isn't a guaranteed placement in the FAQs as well.

You could send your track to each individual curator separately but it'd end up costing more than $17. Here, we've tried our best to make the service as affordable as possible. I apologize if you feel like this was a scam but we've been very clear about how the service works right from the start.

Regardless, we're sorry about the experience you had, we'd love to resolve this, please feel free to email us at support@greaserelease.co

Got a refund

Me and my friend both tried Grease release. Both didn't get onto anything even though we're on many other good playlists through Groover and Submithub. However, after writing this review, they refunded me. So that was nice.

I submitted a song via Grease Release

I submitted a song via Grease Release. During the process I had one email saying the song had been approved, and then one email saying one playlist curator liked the song (but hadn't added the song to the playlist so I had to email Grease Release to chase up).

Grease Release did then speak to the playlist curator and the song was added, though nothing else happened: we had no campaign summary, no feedback from curators, and no evidence of who listened to the song. I think Grease Release could improve its transparency and send artists/submitters a post-campaign report.

I've given two stars as the price is reasonable - I estimate that playlist curators on the platform earn $1 per song or receive a monthly fee, so the value works out though, for one playlist add, I'd recommend using Submithub & Groover as they are a bit better value for money and both user-friendly platforms with greater transparency.

Hey,

Thanks for taking the time out to share your experience. Sometimes, there's a bit of back and forth on the backend which is why your track wasn't added instantly, we apologize for any confusion and the fact that you had to follow up. We're trying to make this process as smooth as possible and we'll make sure to review our internal processes to ensure this doesn't happen again in the future.

Just to make it clear, your track was listened to by the curator who accepted your track, they make the final decision. However, we recognize the value of providing more detailed reports after a campaign and we're definitely gonna work on that!

In case you have any more queries, please send in an email to support@greaserelease.co and we’d be happy to assist.

Cheers

Great service

This is a great playlisting service that actively curates to make sure your music gets on the right playlist. There are a lot of fake playlist services out there but this is not one of them. If your song is not a good fit they will not try to take your money which is refreshing to see.

Would not recommend...

Would not recommend over other similar services like Submithub or Groover. Lack of transparency when it comes to what curators (or even how many) they sent your track to. Said they don't have a suitable playlist for my song because they only curate "radio/commercial genres" which they don't mention on their website.

Hey Greg,

We'd like to clarify that our curators have multiple playlists across different genres. While we're trying to accommodate as many genres as possible, our curators also have a responsibility to the listeners who have expressed a preference for certain styles of music.

However, this does not mean we exclude other genres. Feel free to check out any of our curators and their playlists (there are plenty across different genres). We're also constantly evolving our curation process to incorporate a wider variety of music, including lesser-known genres and experimental sounds.

Regarding the lack of transparency you mentioned, we understand the importance of clear communication, and we apologize if there was any confusion. You can read more about how the service works in the FAQs here - https://www.greaserelease.co/music-submission

Regardless, we're sorry about the poor experience you had. Please send in an email to support@greaserelease.co and we'd love to resolve this

Cheers!
