Great Experience
Great Experience! These guys are always super honest and really great at what they do!
They're fine. But I suggest skipping unless you don't care about money.
I was hesitant to try this for a while, but took the plunge. Their outreach campaigns were convincing; in retrospect, my misgivings were well-placed.
Going to agree with other reviewers here – there are better places to spend money to get your tracks under consideration for playlisting - Submithub, for instance. At least then it's only a few dollars per playlister consideration.
Paying $17 only to have them gatekeep taste (when perhaps you have a song that’s gotten decent traction via ads or whatever) is a bit of a waste of money, and isn’t how they sell their service. It would be useful to understand the rejection/acceptance stats or at least what genres they tend to accept, things like that. Fundamentally: in my opinion, if they aren’t going to playlist you, they should probably return your money. We aren't paying them to give us their opinion of our music, even if that is an implicit part of the process.
I'd suggest going to a more reputable playlisting and PR company that only charges you if//when they choose to work with you. (And no that’s not payola). Run ads. Do your own thing. Seems like this place is only useful for artists that probably don’t need it.
Overall: they’re fine. They probably have certain genres they focus on and most others that they don't, though it's hard to tell from how they position themselves. And I do believe they are a legitimate service; they’re probably honest and cool. But you probably don’t need it.
My experience with Grease Release had…
My experience with Grease Release had been a blessing. If the song isn't good enough to be playlisted you will usually be informed of how to fix it and once playlisted watch the streams come in. They are fast on the reply and the results will meet or exceed your expectations.
Great communication and sincere…
Great communication and sincere playlisting, would recommend to any artist with music at a certain level
Gotcha
After being turned down twice last year, I thought i give'em a last chance, also I really wanted to be sure if its real or fake. So I took a song that I released last summer that made already 300k+ streams on spotify alone. You could say, its my most "mainstream" song, that has been listed on about 500+ playlists already. Surprise, surprise: they have turned it down and used the same "review" I got from them before. Gotcha!
Sorry to say, but the only thing I can recommend to my fellow artists, is to block their email.

Great Overall Experience
I submitted 5 songs for $68 for review and possible placement on their curated playlists. Two of my songs were placed and the other three they provided feedback. There are several reasons for my 5 star review. First, and foremost, is the quality of the feedback, which was clear and specific and professional. Clearly, the person who reviewed listened to the entire track and made thoughtful and constructive comments. I did not get such thoughtful reviews from other Spotify promotion companies who charge significantly more. My Spotify stats so far indicate that the two playlists that my tracks were added on have engaged followers and as a result I'm getting good stream flow and listener exposure. I will definitely be submitting future tracks to Greaserelease.
Very responsive and helpful!
1 out of 3 ain't bad
Fantastic experience. Some of the best feedback I've gotten yet on my music. They only accepted one of the three songs I submitted but they gave kind and thoughtful feedback on the ones they declined. Look forward to submitting more music in the future. Thanks!
Save your money . . .
Didn't make a playlist - even though my music has been accepted widely - not bitter about it. But the comments were, at best, plain patronising. I mean, seriously, who are these guys? And to pay $17 for the privilege of being turned down? Best of all however, was to receive a message, after being declined, asking to sign up for their Musician's Game Plan 'course' for $67! You got to love the nerve. Don't bother.
