- #25 of 36 best companies in Butcher
Information provided by various external sources
The founders of GBMC (Dan, Jamie and Sam), wanted to introduce the UK to a better way of buying meat, with the same values, skills and passion generations before ours had from their local butcher. To give people a chance to enjoy the flavour of carefully sourced and expertly crafted, freshly butchered British meat.
Great British Meat Co.
Written by the company

- GREAT FARMERS
- We're proud to source our meat from local farms, cattle markets and abattoirs near to us in North East England. Hard working independent farmers, who know and respect their animals and every inch of their farm. By trading this way we cut out middlemen and pay a better price for quality, that is fairer on the farmer and the customer.
- GREAT BUTCHERS
- All our meat is hand-cut to order by the GBMC butchery team at our meaty HQ. Our Master Butcher is a stickler for quality, buying choice meat and maturing it until it's just right in our ageing room. Whether it's cutting, dicing or slicing, we make sure it's as tasty as can be, and that's why our meat is cut to order the day before it arrives with you.
- GREAT MEAT
- We use food grade temperature controlled packaging to ensure your meat arrives nice and chilled, within 24 hours of leaving our fridge. Consistently tested by our technical team, we are confident it is the safest way possible to send meat to you. Now with one-hour delivery slots.

The most beautiful peace of meat I have ever seen. Excellent quality and service
Good quality, decent value.
Accurate delivery times. Good prices. Decent quality. Silverside and sirloins were lovely. Bacon has a fair bit of water content when frying, but grilled or air fried solved that issue.
A Fabulous Company

A special shout out for Julia in customer service who contacted me as I’d forgotten to put a delivery date on the order. She also dealt extremely well with delivery issues. She was very professional, efficient and lovely.

I have been waiting all day for my food…
I have been waiting all day for my food order to be delivered- maybe I am just absolutely clueless, but the tracking option for orders involves me joining a new app ( shop) that doesn’t actually seem to track anything. Having joined it.
It’s now 1847 -it’s not arrived.
I’m actually massively disappointed because I’ve used this business over many years- disappointed and now pretty confident that my order will not be delivered.
My wife has stayed in all day for this delivery- we are both due to work tomorrow- really, really poor from this company.
This is our family Christmas dinner!
