It was all very good but it was not explained to us why we were downgraded on one train segment and fron the Grande Denali to the Denali Bluffs. Nor were we told that we could not catch the tundra tour bus from the Denali Bluffs.

Riding and dining on the trains was excellent. Service on the train was great. Shuttles/transportation to and from the trains and communications about the shuttles was below average. Likewise for transportation to/from tours, from/to hotels and tours. Improvement is needed.

This is the second time I’m doing this review - perhaps the first one didn’t get through. Generally the trip was great, but we were very unsatisfied with the hotel in Anchorage. I’ve sent two messages to customer support and am looking forward to a response after the weekend.

This was the best part of our Alaskan vacation! Absolutely incredible scenery along the way. If you're thinking about booking, take the upgrade to the glass-top cabins. You will not be disappointed! The food and service were top-notch as well. Wish I could make it 10 star!! Jim and Angie

A fantastic trip. Well planned independent tour with great excursions.

The train was fine. People were friendly, train was always on time, baggage was handled well. We were disappointed with Grande Denali Lodge, for the very high cost. Thought a less expensive hotel in exchange for breakfast coupons would have been worth it to us. Really liked the lodge in Talkeetna and also Fairbanks.

Has billing issue with Denali Cabins, they charged me $250 for towels after my trave partner had a nose bleed.

The entire tour was amazing! Scott our tour guide was so passionate about the park, the animals and everything about the state of Alaska. A must experience!

Great train experience, good food, very nice hotels, and the planning of the excursions were great. Loved Denai and Talkeetna. The Tundra Wilderness is a must see. Enjoyed the entire trip.

Great tour, driver was extremely knowledgeable had a great zoom in video device to capture closeups of the wildlife we saw on tour.

You would have gotten 5 stars, but the lodging was the blame. Denali Bluffs Hotel left the train passenger's luggage set out in the pouring rain for 1 1/2 hours. Maintenance there is very, very neglected. Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge front desk man was horribly rude when we simply inquired about the check in time, and whereabouts of our luggage. Quite a shame, considering the absolutely perfect, gorgeous views of Denali. The train travel was flawless and very enjoyable. As a whole, the trip was great. Everything you hear about and more. Thank you

Overall, our trip was fantastic!! The one disappointment was the Grizzly Bear Resort which we were booked at because the resort we were supposed to be in was booked full. The Grizzly Bear Resort was not a resort at all. It was a campground with a few buildings with rooms. No amenities at all. Excursion pickup shuttles did not come to this place. No where to eat, no fridge, no microwave, no lobby. Not at all up to the standards that we experienced on the rest of our trip.

train trip it self was good but is other services like hotels were clean with nice rooms, first night hotel nice and nice diner friendly service, second hotel bad breakfast excursions timing poor after excursion you are not able to venture out as there is no car rental only shuttle to limited area 12 hours to kill ,third stop river trip ok then we went on island site seeing 4 hours but trip on island little over 1 hour the rest of time slow ride up and down river then back to hotel not very entertaining or use of time .I would say train trip was great the rest poor travel agent planing would not use them again not money well spent.

We had a wonderful time. The train ride was a relaxing way to see Alaska. The excursions we were on were filled with lots of knowledge about Alaska’s native people.

Most all activities went well. The summary of activities and confirmation provided by the tour provider was not in proper order. It would list an activity and its details before a hotel checkin. A couple details were incorrect but manageable. The Denali Hotel had no lunch service. The Pikes hotel in Fairbanks was in need of refurbishment. Room was musty and one could not open the window as it was 6 feet form the parking lot and its orders and sounds. The hotel also had no breakfast but a buffet that was far less than acceptable. (ever been to a buffet that had no sweets). The transportation during the entire trip was great, including the transit provided by the hotels.

Rode from Anchorage to Fairbanks with overnight stops in Talkeetna and Danali. Baggage check in and delivery went smooth as did receiving boarding pass. All staff were pleasant, informative, and humorous. Although we did not see much wildlife, views were fantastic. Food service on the Gold Star was efficient and well organized and the food itself was good. One caveat, do what you can to get a window seat. Views from an aisle seat are less than ideal.
