New schools are given a 1 or a 2 out of 10 even though they have no data. The scoring rubric is hidden and nonsensical. Some schools are given unearned credit whereas others despite being 'A' schools with excellent metrics are given 4s and 6s. GreatSchools has lost its way...
They site will delete your review. Do not trust this site to find a SAFE school for your child to attend
Disingenuous and biased
Posted an uncomplimentary yet very real firsthand experience of a local school that GreatSchools refused to post. They did not state why it wasn't posted, but it most assuredly was in "violation of guidelines", which are clearly selectively applied in favor of the schools.
I would be more than happy to post a positive review of a school if deserved, but this school was definitely undeserving of praise and my daughter's very real experience should not be selectively suppressed.
Don't trust GreatSchools. Not only are they known to favor whiter, more affluent schools (see the chalkbeat article from 12/5/2019); they will also do what they can to protect such schools from criticism.
