UPDATE:
I managed to get through to customer care this evening and they have issued a refund. The customer service adviser was helpful and it was easy to do - I just think there should certainly be more warning that despite cancelling you are still signed up for an initial box, even though there is no email confirmation or otherwise. Rating revised to 3 stars from 1 star as a result.

INITIAL REVIEW:
I signed up to Green Chef, but immediately realised that there would not be enough option that my children would happily eat. I cancelled immediately as a consequence and my account showed no future orders. There was no email confirmation of an order or otherwise. I checked extensively at the time on my account as I didn't want to be caught out. Green Chef have now charged me for my first box and I cannot connect to customer services. The meals they are sending are not ones I would have ever chosen. This service is a scam.

Recently reactivated my Green Chef to see whether the quality of fresh ingredients had improved. Say no..very disappointed with the manky and brown green beans in my box. Yes GC gave a £2 refund....but a bit useless when I am already beginning to prepare our evening meal.

Boxes not delivered or in the time…

Boxes not delivered or not in the time slot specified!

Terrible so far.

Last time I tried(last year), my food box turned up broken and food had leaked out! Services has not improved to my area.

The quality of the ingredienst is…

The quality of the ingredienst is excellent, especially the fish, prawns and chicken, Well packaged and fresh, generous portions , On the minus side, I don't like having my meals chosen for me when I forgot to do an order or skip a week, Some of the recipes can have too many ingredients and can be time consuming.

Refreshing quality recipe box.
Fantastic fresh organic sustainable food. Exciting and filling recipes. Much easier to work round food preferences and dietary requirements. Not just endless pasta dishes.
Love it, now just to see how often I can afford it....

They force commitment

I was curious, unfortunately curiosity means having to give you card details. I cancelled straight away.

Please please please avoid!!! Never trust an advert from instagram or YouTube! Greenchef are scammers

They advertised a rock bottom starting price for the first box of £9.99 plus delivery yet they’ve scammed £43 from my account which I definitely didn’t sign up for! I’ve requested a refund but judging by other reviews I’m not going to get one, I’m waiting another 6 days to dispute that payment through my bank and then I’ll have to wait 6 weeks for it back

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, payment was frozen through my bank, Green chef still sent me a box even though the payment card was not live. They are now charging me for the box that I didn’t pay for. They won’t waver the charge after having over 40 boxes!! Please don’t send boxes to people if they haven’t paid for them, then continue to chase and say you will pass it onto a debt collector! Your mistake, you shouldn’t have sent the box out end of story. Still waiting a call back

My wife and I are really enjoying the different recipes. The ingredients have been very good and although I am a good cook it is effortless to follow the instructions provided. It is a welcome break from thinking what to eat keep up the good work.

Awful

Awful. Customer service is terrible. You can’t get a proper answer out of the chatbot. Can never get through to a real person on the phone.
Our box had completely the wrong bags, was missing key ingredients and no recipe cards.
The quality isn’t great too. We got this as a way to save time for a busy family but we eat more healthily and more veg without the box!

No respect for Dietary requirements

No respect for Dietary requirements, so many phone calls and lots of spam email.

I had a couple of people signing up new customers for Green Chef come to my door last year and as they did such a good job I decided to join, selecting my dietary restrictions and allergies while making my account. Food was relatively good, nothing special, and I ended up stopping after a couple of months.

After my last order with them I then had the most aggressive marketing campaign I've ever experienced from a company - lots of emails and phone calls offering discounts to come back. Even after saying I'm not interested they kept coming.

Unless you keep on top of the orders every week, they will ignore any allergies or dietary restrictions and send you the default menu. I've had to give away and even throw away meals which I've been charged for because I didn't prevent their mistakes, which has been very upsetting

You cannot skip the first week

Please make it obvious (not just in terms and conditions!) that when you subscribe you are agreeing to pay for the first box and despite you saying you can skip a week this does NOT apply to the first week.
I wanted to skip the first week as we were on holiday but was not able to so I unsubscribed within an hour of signing up and the money was taken anyway. Offered a 50% refund for food I can’t use.
