I wanted to do something about the carbon impact of our holiday

We recently went on a long-haul, multi-destination trip that included several flight transfers. It was an amazing experience, but I couldn’t shake the feeling of guilt about the emissions we were racking up especially with everything going on around climate change.

I started looking into carbon offset options as a way to at least do something to balance the impact. I came across the Greener Travel website by chance. What impressed me was that, although the site wasn’t flashy, it offered enough detail for me to feel that the projects they support are legitimate and make a real difference.

There was clear information about where the money goes and what types of offset projects are funded like reforestation and renewable energy. That gave me some reassurance that this wasn’t just greenwashing. I’m also glad the offset cost wasn’t hidden or tacked on at the end, it was upfront and transparent.

This isn’t a perfect solution, and I know offsets aren’t a free pass to fly without consequence, but using Greener Travel made me feel like I was taking a small but meaningful step. I’d definitely use them again for future trips, and I hope more people consider doing something similar. Every bit helps.
