Heel pain
I've been wearing Berghaus Hillwalker boots for a few years now. I average about 7 miles a day walking the dogs so have worn through 2 pairs.
Following a really good Which review I thought I'd try Grisport Incas this time. First impressions were really good...light and comfortable. But then I went for a walk! After about 2 miles I started to hurt on the medial side of my right heel. By about 5 miles I was really struggling. I made it home but hobbling very slowly for the last few miles.
Since then I've tried to do twice daily shorter walks most days (with my Grisport boots on; the worn out Berghaus pair for any longer walks.......no pain with them regardless how far I walk. Glad I didn't throw them out!) But things are not improving after a month. It still starts to hurt after about 2 miles and 4 is the absolute max I'd manage. I've put an insert with heel padding in the R boot but that's not helped.
I've never suffered from any sort of foot pain when walking, even prior to the Berghaus purchases when I was only walking sporadically wearing pretty cheap boots.
Has anyone else had this sort of problem? Grisport seem to get pretty good reviews generally, quite apart from Which.
The Grisport quality has deteriorated...
I have now had a few models from Grisport and also the 'premium', there are too often errors in the Vibram soles. In the 'Oregon' model the Vibram sole was not solid and in the 'Terrain' model the Vibram sole was not properly attached, there was space in between and white material (textile) was clearly visible between the layers of the sole. Fortunately, I was able to return my last purchase.
Only good for “occasional use”
Bought some hiking boots. Sole cracked right the way across within 12 months. Can’t repair them.
Was told by Grisport:
“These boots are sold as entry level, so only intended for occasion use.
If the boots have been used more than occasionally then this may simply not be the boot for your requirements.“
Other 60-70 quid boots have lasted me at least a couple of years.
Last Grisport’s I had for the same money were ace. These were poor quality. Will buy British next time.
Completely satisfied…
I wanted a replacement pair of boots and was unsure of the name of my present boots customer service were really helpful. After they had received photos of my current pair they were quickly able to tell me they were Peaklander.
I ordered my new pair they arrived very quickly, no breaking in necessary comfortable from the first day (as other purchases have been)
I would highly recommend Grisport for their products and as a company
Grisport UK
Grisport UK, I had an issue with a broken lace ferrule which could not be repaired, superb customer service, I was sent a returns label, sent the boots back and they were replaced without any issue. This is customer service the way it should be.

Gri Sports contractor work boots
Gri Sports contractor work boots,
I’ve worn these boots for 30 years, in spite of the very rough work in do, and my lack of care for the boots I get a good 12 mounts out of them.
Comfortable from the minute you put them on, great heal support system, toe protector and re-enforced sole plate.
Reasonable price to at around £65.
Go buy, you won’t regret or find better safety boots.

These winter boots have been a game-changer. They keep my feet warm and dry, even in deep snow, with insulation that really holds up. The rugged soles give great traction on icy trails, and they’re comfortable enough for long days outside.
Grisport boots. inferior quality poor service
Purchased a pair of Fuse mens walking boots from this Company just 16 months ago in May 2023.
The heel lining has already worn through badly to the outer leather making them very uncomfortable to wear. Grisport not interested in addressing the quality failure and just quotes its 12 month guarantee. the boots have been worn very infrequently. Not good enough. Poor quality and service. expected better, avoid ! i left this review directly on the Grisport product page but they have not published it. Redacted edited review mediation process is not a good look for any business. Avoid.
Grisport Excalibur - Bang for buck!
These boots are awesome - in dry conditions. Great toe box, can walk in these for hours, days maybe, and feel supported in all the right places. It's like being barefoot, with the added bonus of having a grippy and flexible sole.
Had these for a few years and they're holding up well, but they don't react well to water. Besides that, a great boot. Would recommend to a dry hiker
I can’t say anything about the…
I can’t say anything about the longevity of these boots, I have only had them for a week, but I have worn these boots for a week now, they are the best walking shoes I have ever owned, they are comfortable and very waterproof.
Superior quality and comfort
The difference is made by experienced people!
Good quality and good prices!!
Great shoes
AVOID! They won't last!
I've had two different pairs of boots from Grisport, both failed to last 12 months.
It's a real shame because at first wear they seem incredibly comfortable and appear well made.
The first pair of boots the leather uppers split across the toes on both boots, this despite me being pretty dilligent in terms of cleaning and polishing.
The second pair have both split across the rubber sole. I contacted Grisport but was told that these boots were only meant for "light" use. Well, the only use they have had is dogwalking the fields of Essex, which is hardly the most challenging of terrains.
Grisport offered me a 15% discount on my next pair (I could have got better than that simply by buying from Amazon).
Needless to say, I shall be looking elsewhere for my next pair of boots.
Completely agree with Scott Farrell
Completely agree with Scott Farrell. I bought boots on line from Grisport which were not waterproof in any shape or form from the start. After only wearing them in the dry the rubber on the toe became unstuck. Customer services ignored my letter and email. Sadly they were the most comfortable supportive boots I have ever had but VERY reluctant to buy more and most definitely not from the Grisport website.
Bought a pair of Kratos walking boots…
Bought a pair of Kratos walking boots direct from Grisport in January. I had read good reviews of the style and brand in general. Everything was great at first, waterproof and really comfortable. Then after about 6 weeks of wear they started letting water in. I contacted their Customer Services who recommended a NikWax spray, that didn’t work, so I wax dubbed them. Still no good. Soaking wet feet even through wet grass. Customer Service won’t answer my emails now and didn’t allow the negative review I left on the Grisport site. It’s the old saying buy cheap buy twice and you get what you pay for. I’ll have to now buy a proper pair of boots from another brand. I would not recommend these boots or brand due to the companies failure to respond to complaints.
