Groupon's Very Poor Customer Experience

I have returned to buying and using Groupon deals until last night. When the website refused to accept my legitimate postcode as part of my billing address.I have been trying to resolve this for 24 hours. Very disappointing and frustrating.
Groupon has failed me

Brilliant price and super fast delivery .
Plus absolutely superb customer service from John who helped me efficiently through some initial activation issues.
Buy with complete confidence from these guys and just wish all sellers were as good as this.
Keep up the excellent work and service.

Groupon is a scam

Groupon is a scam, do not use it!
At best it is a hit and miss. Half the deals purchased do not exist, have ceased to exist or do not match the description advertised on this website.
From my experience, this is the trick: customers purchase vouchers which cannot be redeemed (for various reasons, I will give my examples later) and are forced to ask for a refund. Groupon found ways to avoid giving refunds using different techniques. The most obvious one is to push customers to accept credits (‘bucks’) rather than reverse charges to visa cards or other methods of payment. By doing this, they save transaction costs and force you to purchase more unredeemable coupons on their website… Groupon, if you google it, was already brought to justice in the UK a few years ago for refusing to process refunds. Despite this, their old business model doesn’t appear to have changed much.
In the last dealing with their ‘customer service’, they outright claimed that my Coupon was non-refundable when the voucher clearly stated otherwise. Bear in mind, under UK law, consumers have strong rights to refunds, primarily governed by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (for goods/services quality) and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (for online/distance sales). Key rights include a 30-day "right to reject" faulty goods for a full refund, and a 14-day "cooling-off" period for online, phone, or mail-order services. So they are basically breaking the law.
In short, my best advise is.
1 – Shop elsewhere. There are much better deals eslewhere!
2 – If you are entitled to a refund, ask to get paid back to your original form of payment. Do not accept ‘bucks’ .
3 – When they refuse to refund you, file a claim with your financial institution or Payal etc. as you are legally entitled to one.
Type of issues I encountered with 3 (out of 6 coupons) I bought:
- Vendor not reachable.
- Services or Goods do not match description, or the price becomes higher than advertised when I visited the merchant.
- Vendor refused coupon I purchased because Groupon was not paying her.

Playing Russian Roulette with your Shopping

Failure of Groupon checkout system appears to request re-entering payment details and actually generates duplicate customer charges. Is this a deliberate scam? because Groupon have dozens of excuses why they cannot resolve this error and refuse to refund under their 14 day refund scheme. Groupon may have some cheap software offers but they are not worth the risk of having to deal such a poor company when things inevitably go wrong. Do not use this company.

First time using them - took my money and didn't give anything in return

First time using them. Bought a voucher for Toby Carvery for the same day but was refused at the restaurant due to it being a Saturday (didn't notice the Mon-Fri restriction on purchase). Fine I thought I'd just use the voucher a different time. When I went to look today it had expired and 2 chat agents separately told me that was my fault to let it expire. It was 2 months since buying/redeeming. So Groupon UK has taken my money for a voucher which wasn't used with an expiry date far too short and then despite just taking free money from me wasn't willing to provide any good will to generate a new voucher code for use. I am not saying this isn't my fault - admittedly I was unfamiliar with Groupon bits and should have paid closer attention, but giving the lack of care for their customers will be immediately cancelling my account after a single transaction from which I got nothing.

Terrible if you're trying to get a refund

Running around in circles trying to get a refund from Groupon. Claim they didn't take payment when it's clearly showing up in my bank account! Customer service unhelpful and just realised how hard it is to submit a complaint. No actual process. It's a nightmare.

😡😡😡 DONT USE this company absolute crooks miss selling massage vouchers for bannantyne that I could not use and 2 people in management saying it was miss sold on chats that i have saved with them that lasted over a month of back and forth with them ang just trying to get my money back and them not refunding me and insulting me twice over the month of conversations by offering money off vouchers for next purchase with them. 😡😡😡. I took my case to resolver to escalate it and they have not once responded to anything there is a reason there reviews are getting to nearly 50% good 50% bad just scummy theifs go elsewhere don't give them your money.😡😡😡

Groupon won't refund me on order never received have lied and been outright incompetent and unlawful

Well over a month on and Groupon definitely have no intention of refunding me on my missing item they insist was definitely however I didn't receive any information as the customer on my delivery or a photo of delivery and confirmation it was delivered it was £23 worth so thankfully not a large amount but it is now in the hands of my bank . Groupon can't be emailed they only have their terrible online chat service. I had a so called manager treat me completely unprofessionally and lie to me on many occasions. They repeatedly said they only want to help and make sure their customers are satisfied then say we can't refund you to your original bank account this is illegal. Please please be warned I had purchased a number of items over the years but now they operate without emails and with this new attitude it's ready not worth it. They entice you with so called deals but how is it a deal when they don't conduct them in accordance with the law.

Serious safety concerns…

There were serious concerns about the health and safety of the venue I had booked. There was a door hanging off its hinges between the changing rooms and the pool. It was not taped up or secured and people were continuing to use it. The alternative offered was to walk through the public corridor bare foot and in your bathing suit/towel which, as it was safer, we did. But it was not acceptable. According to staff it had been broken for "weeks" at the time of our visit. The chlorine levels in the pool were dangerously high. It bleached my swimming costume and destroyed mine and my daughter in laws jewellery. I sent a complaint. I received a phone call in which I was told it was the fault of my swimming costume. When I disputed this I was offered a free visit back to the spa - I refused due to the safety concerns. I was then offered a full refund. I have not received the refund. All correspondance has been ignored by Haycroft and by Groupon. I cannot get through to a human within Groupon and just keep ending up on an AI loop. I tried using Resolver" to get the refund but they ignored those communications too. I am being left with no other option but to take them to court over the costs incurred.

First order was the incorrect item - total Nightmare

First order was the incorrect item, no response from merchant. Had to order again and the second order did not arrive despite saying delivered. Lots of time spent trying to get money back with Groupon. Birthday gift for my niece didn't arrive. Groupon should not be working with this third party merchant!
