31-Year Member Feels "Neutral."
I have a Greater Texas Federal Credit Union (GTFCU) joint account with my late father, who was a State of Texas Employee. Later on. I became a State of Texas Employee also. There used to be several locations in Houston: one at the DHS regional training center and another at the DHS Regional Headquarters. Both have closed and the only other location is on Bingle: a street I only know about because of traffic reports on the radio. I have no idea where Bingle is, but it likely is quite distant from where I live. GTFCU used to partner with some other credit union on the Southeast Side and that's where I did most of my business. Once I even went there for some "notary work" that I needed done. A lot of my financial transactions I do online, and they have a phone app that you can scan and deposit checks. I have my small monthly ERS check direct deposit to GTFCU, and have my accounts linked to another online bank that I primarily use. I have a debit card, but not sure where I could use it at an ATM. To be very honest, the reason I keep this account is because there is a $2,000 accidental death & dismemberment policy that GTFCU members receive for free. If someone was to ask me how I feel about GTFCU, I'd have to say, "Neutral." I've probably been a member for 31 years.
