Serious Deposit Refund Issues

Update as of 3.3.2026 – This issue is still not resolved. Despite repeated assurances and follow-ups, we have yet to receive our deposit refund. The continued delay is deeply frustrating.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING experience with this school’s administration and finance process. Our family was part of the school community for four years, and we never expected things to end this way. After graduating in July 2025, our deposit refund—clearly confirmed in writing—has been delayed for months with no resolution. A deposit that was supposed to be applied toward the last month of tuition (as stated in their agreement) later became a refund issue and was promised within 4–6 weeks. It has now been outstanding for several months, dating back to July 2025.

We have followed up repeatedly, only to receive vague explanations such as system migrations, staffing issues, and management transitions. Several times we were told the refund had already been issued or approved, yet nothing ever arrived. Each follow-up led to another apology, but no real progress.

What makes this especially frustrating is the lack of accountability. Responsibility kept shifting between teams, and eventually we were told that certain staff were no longer involved, leaving us with no clear point of contact and no answers.

This should have been a simple, routine process, but instead it has turned into a long, stressful, and bitter experience. Based on how this was handled, we cannot recommend this school to existing or new parents until they demonstrate basic financial responsibility, accountability, and follow-through with families.

Reply from Guidepost Montessori - Timber Ridge

Thank you for sharing your experience, and I’m truly sorry for the frustration and disappointment you’ve described - especially after being part of the Guidepost community for four years! I understand how upsetting it must be for a process that should have been straightforward to remain unresolved for so long.

I want to acknowledge that the delay in issuing a refund that was confirmed in writing, along with the inconsistent communication you experienced, is not acceptable and does not reflect the level of accountability or follow-through we expect to provide families. I recognize how stressful and disheartening this has been, particularly after multiple assurances that the matter had been approved or processed.

For the most up-to-date information regarding the status and timeline of your refund, please reach out to inquiries@guidepostmontessori.com - I personally monitor this inbox and will ensure your message is seen and responded to by the appropriate team supporting this work.
