WORST GUINEA PIG PRODUCTS I’VE EVER PURCHASED!!! STICK WITH PETCO, CHEWY, AND OTHER STORES IF YOUR PET’S LIFE MATTERS TO YOU….

Absolutely horrendous products claiming to be top quality. I decided to give the “HAY BARS” a chance because on their website GuineaDad.com they claim that their Hay Bars are 99% dust free and “EVERY PIECE OF HAY IS HAND CLEANED AND PROCESSED” claiming to deliver only top quality products. I had my pet guinea pig for 6 years and he never once was sick, I was lucky he never experienced an eye hay poke, and was always active and healthy. That was until I tried Guinea dad hay bars and bought their horrendous liner for $80 that wasn’t even close to the size they claimed it was( even after shrinking). They love to try and make it seem like it’s your fault or just like humans, you can’t satisfy every guinea pig. My Guinea pig got bumble foot for the first time ever and they claimed their premium Guinea dad mats are waterproof and prevent wetness, and how their hay was all hand cleaned each and every piece, I got to thinking, that would take hundreds of thousands of people to process each piece by hand. Well, after trying the first hay bar it was all dust and powder and the absolute worst hay I’ve ever bought. My guinea pig was completely covered in dust from his mid back to his entire face when I woke up one morning. I went into a panic and it was all in his eyes and nose and I cleaned him off as good as possible. He ended up with a hay poked eye and I had to pay $39 for this tiny tube of medicine for hay pokes. Less than a week later I noticed a milky discharge from his nostrils and after seeing an exotic veterinarian and spending $515 to flush out his eyes and nose, pain medicine , antibiotics, he was never the same again. I had to take him back 2 more times for his nose and eye infection and 5 months after the initial incident he stopped eating, went from 1,388 grams to 890 grams in less than a week and died at home 4 hours after leaving the vet. I watched him spasm and twitch to death for hours and gave him his medicine to alleviate the pain. Then I spent another $450 to have his paw prints molded and had him cremated and received a beautiful mahogany 4” box with his ashes and a picture on the front. I opened up my last two hay bars after he passed away just out of curiosity and they were both riddled with pure dust, just powder with barely any long pieces of solid hay. I’m curious how the workers hand picked and cleaned each particle of dust. Worst company ever. Horrendous hay, which I can’t even call hay it’s more like sawdust, the Guinea dad pee pad is absolutely awful and not waterproof at all. The pee smell stayed in the pad even after only cleanjng it with distilled white vinegar like they instructed and he got bumble foot for the first time and an eye hay poke with infected nostrils with discharge after getting particles of dusty, sharp hay in his nostrils. He was in perfect health, extremely active, until trying out these horrible products from Guinea Dad, then getting sick, and dying 5 months later. I should have listened to the old adage of “NEVER TRY FIXING THINGS THAT AREN’T BROKEN.” This company should be ashamed of themselves. Anyone that looks at these photos of the HAY BARS that they claim your guinea pigs just can’t refuse, and you see the pure block of dust, you’ll know they completely lie about hand cleaning their hay. It looks like they just shoveled the leftover powdered hay off the ground and packed it into what they call edible cardboard covered in food grade ink. If you love your guinea pigs and small pets avoid GUINEADAD AT ALL COSTS!!

The Timothy hay bar

I recd my Timothy hay bar for my two boys named Cheecho and Pepe today. Shipping came pretty quick...OMG they wont stop eating it. Mainly Cheecho who looks like a lil burrito. For 5 hours off and on they both ate and ate and ate. They have never done this with any other hay before. I highly recommend this hay to any guinea parents. My two boys are very happy and I also want to add that every purchase experience I have had with this company has been wonderful!

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. They should not sell guinea pig food and treat products if they only "allow returns" on unopened products. The treat and hay quality is so low quality neither of my 2 males who weigh 1400g would touch any thing. Company refusing to honor their return policy on faulty manufacturing. They keep blaming my pigs for not liking the product meanwhile everything I buy on chewy they inhale!!! My mistake for trying a small company that advertises as premium...DO NOT buy their hay/food products

Misleading product and horrible customer service

I've experienced possibly the worst customer service of my life from GuineaDad. I ordered the premium 2x4 liner to replace my original 2x4 liner. The liner that was sent was over 32 inches wide and over 62 inches long. The instructions say "WASH FIRST TO SHRINK" -- I washed it and it shrunk a bit. HOWEVER to by washing it first (per the instructions) they wouldn't accept my return. I have had over 10 email exchanges with Mary at customer service -- they've offered me 10% off another purchase - I declined. They keep telling me to wash it and it'll shrink -- it doesn't -- the bottom is some sort of rubbery fabric -- it's not going anywhere.
I want a refund or an exchange for a liner that fits (I would even accept the original liner) BUT they continue to say NO even though I only washed the darn thing because that's what the instructions said to do. They've made every excuse in the book, saying the liner is meant to have room to shrink and it's meant to go up the sides of the walls for pee spray. Please explain HOW my piggie can use the pocket if it's up the side of the cage? At no time have they even considered the fact that perhaps I was sent the wrong or a defective product.

My senior piggie loves her original liner -- all I want is a new one just like it!

About the premium liner -- aside for the dimensions of the liner I was sent, it's nice but it's VERY thick. I have an extra large washer and it always gets off balance during the spin cycle. Plus it takes ages to dry. I really doubt once soiled that it could get deeply clean. Best advice I can give to anyone is to stay away from GuineaDad products because they don't stand by them, but if you thought you were a big fan (as I did) I suggest staying with the original.

One would think with a premium product would come a premium customer experience, but they've really turned me off their products.

The problem with the guinea dad liners…

The problem with the guinea dad liners is when you wash them they absorb a lot of water making them heavy. I believe this is what ruined my washing machine. I would recommend bringing them to the laundromat. Also I'm having to hand clean them everyday as the pee spots don't get absorbed. They do take quite a bit of time to line dry at least a day or so and if you often put them in the dryer they will shrink. My guinea pigs do love the pocket though and it is pretty decent product

Ignored when trying to make a return!

I purchased the Piggy Condo C&C cage with balcony & Ramp - and immediately after unboxing, I was unsatisfied with the quality of the cage "floor" and lining which was basically cardboard. I packaged the cage up, unused, and immediately wrote the company. I have been ignored on all angles to return this product. I've emailed twice, texted and did chat on the website. I have a feeling this company is a scam. This cage wasn't cheap. My advice, buy from Amazon or a store where you KNOW your customer service will be better and your returns will be handled.

WARNING: Premium Liner Gave My Pig Bumblefoot

**Update on 2/24- GuineaDad has reached out to me to further address this issue and also sent me original liners for my piggies. It is much appreciated!

Their original liners are great- the premium liners, not so much. I have tried to share my poor experience with the premium liner on their website including a photo of my Guinea pig needed salt soaks on his feet, and they will not approve it. They are only approving 5 star reviews, which is extremely disappointing. My Guinea pig got bumblefoot from the premium liners and needed weeks of care to heal his feet. No matter how often I washed the liner + the use of pee pads over high traffic areas, his feet did not heal until I changed to a completely different liner. The premium liner was staying damp and not soaking in the urine which caused the bumblefoot. If you are going to purchase their liners, get the original ones. Since they are trying to hide critical reviews, I would just purchase liners elsewhere. I do love other products from this company, so this is very disappointing that they would hide these reviews especially when bumblefoot can be fatal for Guinea pigs.

Poor quality & products aren’t backed

Their most expensive “premium” liners did not hold up well- pad material inside bunched up, leaks, even after following the instructions completely and using vinegar along with the washing machine cycle. The material is very poor quality and I would not recommend these liners nor this company. I have better liners purchased elsewhere. Complete waste of money here & terrible customer service. This company does not stand behind its products! They would not allow returns because they do not go by when product was actually received/box opened. The hay box comes with 3 and their “patented” clip which is merely a paper binder clip, will not even stay upright and the box bulged open. This was my first and last order from Guinea Dad-I listened to the hype on Guinea Pig groups. The tree stump hideout, did not wash well, and bunched up and the Guinea Pigs won’t even sit or lie in it. The only thing they liked is the cardboard box that converts into a hideout. Lesson learned- buyer beware!
