This platform is completely trash


My account got suspended after one day, even though I did not violate any of their Terms of Use and ask them why they suspend my account. But they just told me to use another platform instead. Well, I WILL and I'm glad to know how unreliable this platform is before making more sales, as they could suspend my account without any valid reason.

And as they said to me by email:

"I would advise that you look into using an alternate marketplace site"

So yeah, stay away from Gumroad and use another platform.

Poor service

Poor service. Used a billing address from my country and payment but was charged VAT from another country purely because I was on vacation in another country. I had no warning that I was going to get this added and they 'stealth' added the cost after confirming payment. Told they could do nothing about it.

I had tried to sell my recipes in 11 mounth now. I today suffer and no one being my product. Even if I publish my site. I still have to receive over 10 dollars to be discovered. But will not get it.😢 I don't know what to do.

Selling Stolen Items and Lack of Respect for Intellectual Property

Never in my life did I imagine giving a 1-star review for any business, but unfortunately, there's a first for everything—and here I am. I design and develop WordPress themes, and to my surprise, I found one of my themes being sold on their site by someone I don't know. I contacted Gumroad, provided proof of ownership, and asked them to take the listing down. It's been a month, and I haven’t heard anything back from them, and the product is still there.

It has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. I hope Gumroad values creators' intellectual property better, upholds higher moral standards in conducting their business, and filters their creators more thoroughly.

Convenient Excuse not to refund...NOT

Bought a product through them last week. The software does not work. Asked Gumroad for a full refund. Gumroad conveniently stated they are a "Middleman" (their term, not mine), so only take payments and refunds are nothing to do with them. Beware folks they who play both ends of the retail game.

Suspended account after years

I've been selling on Gumroad for years along with my wife.

All of a sudden, they change their policy on NSFW creators (the ones who built their platform to be as influent as it is today) and we get our account suspended and removed.

This happens at the same time as someone used a fraudolent card and, guess what they did? They REFUNDED HIM. So, not only I lost money multiple times (this happened as well in the past) but I would have lost even my salary and livelyhood if I had nowhere else to go.

To make things worse, when I was facing piracy, they refused to give any help.

Do not use this site. It's literally the worst when it comes to your rights as a seller.

I bought an indicator on this site that promised a refund. I asked them to unsubscribe my account but they conteniue to ask many questions by email and do not accept it. They do not accept to turn off monthly subscription and I had to cancel my bank card and take another one. They are scammers at all. Do not pay them any thing. They also may stole your bank details. SCAM: AVOID AT ALL COST

I bought a "guide" on this site that promised a refund if you asked for it. The moment I asked for a refund the product page was removed. Also - the purchase through PayPal was an "Automatic Payment" by default. Had I not noticed and turned this off, they would have taken money from me monthly without my knowledge. Avoid at all cost - GUMROAD IS A SCAM!

posted an ebook

posted an ebook, made 20 sales and they suspended my account! when i asked them the reason behind it, they simply told me that my sales were fraudulent and told me to go use another website! i even told a friend of mine to buy my ebook with 100% correct info and corresponding ip address and they still argue that 100% of my sales are credit card fraud avoid this scamming service!

I met some problems on the Gumroad platform and received prompt help from the staff (Vatsal) from Gumroad.

They managed to solve it for me within a short timeframe and I could resume my work quickly.

I wish more platforms could offer excellent service like Gumroad.

Buying products while being in the other country

I have a permanent address in the other country than the one from which I access the internet now for buying one of the products.
I cant provide different address as it may be viewed by my bank as a breach of AML procedures and I may get freezed my bank account. I am obligated to use the same address which is under my card. All of this, despite of the fact that country in which I have residence is on the list. Awful buying experience. The worst one I ever had. Website looks like a joke also. Still do not know why creators use such thing like this website to sell their products / services as it just complicate a lot of things for the users. I have sent message to support during US working hours and nobody replied to me. Worst, worst, worst. Will overcome this, buy from other account by my friend, and then he will post also his review, probably with the 1 star, so next time you understand how to take care of your clients.

Been using Gumroad for years up till now and will never again

Been using Gumroad for years, purchasing free products with no issue, however two days ago I JUST bought a zbrush product related to modelling, no problem there, however I look at my card, and found out there was REOCCURING charges on my card from the same purchase that was supposed to be a one-time purchase. I'm now awaiting a response on the refund I've issued, but I gotta admit, this is not a good first-impression of all the issues people have with the site and will definitely be blocking the card from this company and deleting my account from the site... I don't know if I'll get the refund or not later, but I'll echo other people's response. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

Great Razors, Great company support

My husband LOVES the razors and they give him a great shave!! We are in the USA and are on subscription for his razors. We have never had an issue all this time, but this time he got the wrong blades sent. Gruum was EXTREMELY RESPONSIVE to my email and sent correct blades out right away! Could not be happier with the product, company and their quick action to correct the mistake! GREAT PRODUCT GREAT COMPANY- highly recommend!

Suddenly locked out and rate limited for no reason

Just signed up for an art lesson membership. I’ve watched 2 videos with no problem and now all of a sudden I have an error message saying I’m temporarily rate limited and I can’t access anything.
Will try tomorrow and cancel if it persists. I feel sorry for the creator as the videos and teaching was excellent.

Hmmm

Hmmm. Very frustrating and not on. Had an issue with being charged extra after I had already paid, and an automatic payment being set up without my consent. It happened again immediately after, despite me trying to make sure nothing went wrong this time (I'm looking to buy a set of 8 videos in total). Customer support told me to contact the creator, despite it being a platform issue, but gave me a no-reply email addres. After I raised a dispute in PayPal (ongoing) I was sent an email admonishing me about doing this, saying I'm now banned from using the plarform, and told to cancel the dispute if I want to be unbanned. Still no help with my issues even though I had sent screenshots.

Just made a purchase - feels like a scam

Just made a purchase.
I'm now unable to download the font for which I paid. I had to download the Gumroad app, super buggy, feels like they are trying to get as much information as possible to sell. After creating an account, I'm still unable to download the file.

Fortunately I managed to contact the designer and he agreed to send me the file.

When stuff goes wrong it your fault !

Make a purchase on digital 3/02 and after the purchase the mediafire download link was not available. I thought no problem I will just get the item refunded.

I can now no longer use PayPal to pay for anything on the website as I requested a refund so yes in essence you are blamed not the seller.

I did contact them only to told it not their fault and it their banking partners that do it total BS.

They more less use any possible way to remove people PayPal protection. I would go direct to a seller and avoid using their website at all costs
