Thank you for leaving a review - always appreciated. We've just reached out to you by email, but yes, letting you know that delays of this nature aren't our usual.

Unsure if you receive our newsletters or follow us on our social media, we were posting about The Barn facing customs delays since January 27th-ish. A very longwinded inbound delivery, their pallets came to UK, shipped back to Germany, and back to UK again.

Despite all our customs experiences, erroneous customs delays can sometimes randomly and bizarely happen. We operate a very tight roasting schedule so that everyone’s coffees are roasted as late as possible and also catering for international shipping times. The sum is for our coffees to arrive to us before our 1-4th dispatch period each month. The Barn export to UK every week of the year, and their export had both of us and even the couriers baffled at UK customs.

We try our hardest to avoid all instances of customs issues. If ever thinking our dispatches are later than normal, we also post daily updates to our Service Delivery Status icon located top right of our website - it is hopefully always a green dot, but if it ever flashes red, there we transparently communicate delivery issues to keep all our subscribers in the loop. We hope everyone finds this useful.

Otherwise, we hope you enjoyed the coffees and also the complimentary bag as our standard warm welcome too - some great roasters there in Kiss The Hippo, The Barn and Wide Awake, great choice of subscription. For next month, our dispatch period will start from 29th February, with these days as advertised on our website.

Amazing

Great value, great coffee, amazing customer service. Canceled all my subscriptions and only have them for about a year now. Cant see myself canceling any time soon.

Blown away by the quality

Blown away by the quality, variety, and personal touches to my coffee subscription. Exactly how a subscription service should be. Always something new, always fresh, always exactly within the criteria set. No idea how they do it and no idea why they aren't more well known. Fantastic

Great Coffee

Really good range of speciality coffees, many that aren't easy to get elsewhere in the UK. Great for the coffee nerd, or just anyone who like good quality beans. Subscription is good value, and the people seem nice.

Superb

I’ve had a subscription for a few years and it’s consistently excellent. Great quality choices that I would never have considered otherwise. Exceptional customer service too - on the rare couple of occasions there were delays due to outside issues, communication has been excellent. Top stuff.

Great coffee every morning

Great coffee, every morning from three different roasters a month. They do the research so I can brew it and enjoy it. I'd love to devote my life to searching out the best coffee but at the moment I just don't have time. Gustatory do it for me. Get a subscription and never experience the sorry of a bad cup of coffee every again.

Amazing company, great atitude, customer service and vision! Coffees are pretty good - I was expecting more complexity and think some UK roasters like Sweven and Plot offer that, instead of shipping out the Europe. That's said it's great to try different roast profiles around Europe. Keep it up guys!

Great company

No hasel. I chose my subscription, it turns up at my door on time. Really nice coffees and I like the choice of subscriptions to suit you. The handwritten note inside is a nice touch as well.

I use the 87+ coffee subscription and…

I use the 87+ coffee subscription and it's a bit misleading as it's coffees they judge to be 87+ so it's not necessarily a fair scoring it's a little cheeky. Otherwise fair value and varied coffees.

My latest coffee from them has written on the bag'86.5' as a cup score, as an indicator.

Absolutely brilliant subscription service if you like great coffee. The ability to choose what styles you like and enjoy coffees from around the world that meet those preferences is excellent and the reason I subscribe. The coffees are always exceptional and of the highest quality.

Hi Lionel, thanks for your feedback on your subscription, sorry to hear of your decision in moving this to Trustpilot.

As mentioned via our direct communication, we have compared your international delivery with other subscribers of ours based in India and it looks like everyone else's packages have been successfully delivered over the last 4 or 5 days (not including Sunday), with all reaching India's airports and customs around 10 days ago (processing difference of 5-7 working days). With yours currently still in customs, we can only assume that it will be processed very shortly as we see no reason yours to be different to the others.

Also as per our email replies, we have taken a look at past deliveries to India and whilst we advise a timeframe through live chat or email communications, such timeframes are always the guidance as provided by our couriers and postal services, neither of which have any control over the processing speed of any individual customs departments upon a parcel's arrival into a country. We do very regularly see our international subscribers receive their parcels ahead of the guideline timeframes quoted, whilst on some occasions there may also be unknown delays as parcels pass through the system with perhaps localised delay issues - unfortunately it is just something that every online company faces.

As part of our standard customer service, we do always offer compensation and/or refunds to everyone in the UK or international who may experience delayed postage beyond an acceptable timelength. For those who are ever affected, the timeframe we consider something 'lost' is also always much shorter than the timeframe any couriers or postal services have, and thus, is an offer out of our own good faith to deliver the best service possible. In this instance, as your delivery isn't yet much different to our other India subscribers this month, it seems the delivery isn't delayed as such, but rest assured, we've made a note and are monitoring this. Our best guess is maybe India's customs are currently experiencing a local delay of some kind.

As mentioned via our direct communication, we apologise in this instance as a simple human error took place in wrongly packing your subscription. With us packing thousands of subscriptions every month, this rarely happens, but was our very honest mistake.

To rectify, we looked into your subscription and we had in fact sent you one bag instead of the three you paid for, with the second included actually our complimentary bag as a warm welcome - sorry to hear this wasn't kindly received. Of the two therefore received, one was filter roasted (Gringo) and the other omni roasted (Kiss The Hippo), and therefore both perfectly usable for filter brewing methods. Further, as you should have normarily received your three bags, as paid for, plus our complimentary bag to make four, we provided an instant refund on the two bags not received in addition to correcting the issue that led to the human packing error. As such, all future deliveries are now to be correct.

As a highly customer focused family business, we kindly ask if you may reconsider this review to be a truer reflection of the experience had with us. We hope you enjoy your latest coffee delivery! Thank you
