No Comms on a Saturday Morning (by policy)
Made a booking, needed to contact the company urgently, rang twice, no answer, left a voicemail - no response - apparently its their POLICY to not answer the phone until 9:30am on a Saturday (office opens at 8am). Apparently also policy that they won't respond to voicemails either - at all!
Apparently, it's on you to jump in the car and drive to their yard to actually speak to a carbon-based life form during this 'comms black-out period' should you need to clarify anything regarding your booking, or actually confirm your booking because their website lets you APPLY to book... you'll get the confirmation an hour and a half later - via email.
Five acres was my first choice... and remains my first choice! I was offered a 'voucher' to use a van for the day in the next three months - and apparently this nearly blew a gasket in their estimations of what a 'fair' offer should look like, apparently the refund (of £90) was just not going to happen.
Oh - and I didn't even get an apology, that's after asking for clarification and me spending 30minutes to give them the gory account of events on that fateful saturday morning, that's also despite going from 'kind of' understanding my frustration to 'fully understanding' my frustration in the journey they clearly had writing the most pathetic excuse of an email I think I've ever read; ChatGPT could have helped them, and would have made a better read.
So I ended up paying for the Van, not using it because they dragged their heels and don't have any concept of (BASIC) customer service (like answering the phone or responding to a voicemail), spending 2 hours unloading 2 tones of crap from a trailer (so I could use it - being the ball ache a van was supposed to save me), and reloading said 2 tones of crap, dragging the missus, kids and trailer to the family mothers day meal and had the glorious delight of loading up 2 French doors in my Sunday best while it started raining.
Thanks Gwalia - I got the ball ache AND the bill, nice!
