Avoid using halo, no contract but put you in a contract.

Do not sign up to halo leisure memberships.

Advertised as a no contract pay as go membership. Signed up but then found i did not have the time to go.
Went to cancel and they say that there is a 28 day cancellation period even though this is not clearly shown prior to signing up, they just send it to you after you've signed up in an email hidden at the bottom of your direct debit confirmation rather than making you aware before signing up so you know what you are actually signing up for. Especially considering its advertised as a no contract membership.
Customer services were very unhelpful and just hide behind terms and conditions just so that they can attempt to claim an additional month of payment.
Obviously a failing company because they have to resort to deceiving customers to try and claim additional money when the services aren't even being used.

I would strongly recommend avoiding using halo leisure

Rubbish customer service centres in tragic conditions so many pieces of gym equipment out of use. Don't waste your money on a membership

Gym at cwmbran just been refurbished…

Gym at cwmbran just been refurbished with cheap rubbish equipment, some of which is actually dangerous and unusable. Staff not interested when you complain. Halo is a third rate "charity registered " company that doesnt pay tax. Typical of torfaen council.

Dirty Gym, Moldy Windows, and a Discriminatory Cancellation Process

I decided to cancel my membership due to ongoing hygiene issues at Halo Leisure.

The “no shoes” policy in the pool area is never enforced, which makes walking to the pool genuinely unpleasant — you’re constantly trying to avoid stepping in whatever’s been tracked in from outside. Upstairs, the gym equipment is always covered in dust and hair, the windows have visible mold, and the ceilings are full of cobwebs. It feels like basic cleanliness and maintenance are just being ignored.

On top of that, the cancellation process is unreasonable. You’re forced to use an online form and if you try to cancel directly at the gym, they sitll make it difficult by insinuating they can't do it at the desk. They can do it at the desk, by filling out the cancellation form for you, but they argue with you doing it yourself online at home. This policy is unfair and, frankly, feels unethical — it feels like it attempts to exclude disabled or elderly members who might need in-person assistance, even though staff could easily handle cancellations at reception.

I expected better from a community facility that should value accessibility, cleanliness, and respect for its members. Really disappointing experience overall.

Halo Tenbury Wells is a friendly

Halo Tenbury Wells is a friendly, clean and professionally run leisure centre owned by the local community. Standards have made a BIG improvement since Halo took over. Well done Halo and TCP teams.

DONT BOTHER

General manager Gloucester is useless never seems to answer complaints or emails. Has gone downhill since she took it over. Staff seem unhappy and unhelpful. Not worth the extortionate price

Leominster Halo

Half of the equipment is broken in the gym and has been for months. They have got to the point now that they are taking kit out and not replacing it leaving gaps. There is only B1 bike now!!
The showers are useless and the water machine is falling apart. I have complained several times as have others but nothing gets done.

Family fun swimming

Family fun swimming, anything but.
You don't get the whole pool no inflatables snorkles or flippers and asked to leave 5mins before your session time very dour experience.
Noticed on the few occasions we have been here very few people attend. could do with an injection of fun people want fun at the weekend.

STAY AWAY…

I would highly recommend staying AWAY from their ‘no contract’ membership as it is misleading and lead to a lot of stress. I did not use my membership, had already paid and then tried to cancel, of which I was told I had to pay money to cancel. I am having money struggles due to covid, meaning I cannot afford to pay to leaving fee for something I did not use and now I have been handed late payment fees leaving me with an outstanding balance of £56 for something I have already paid £15 for and something I did not use! I cannot afford the fees and it will just keep adding up. It is extremely predatory. I did not use the membership and will have to fork out a total of £71 for the pleasure? Stay clear of this!
