We are proud to say we have more than 50 years of experience, and have used that time to better understand the needs of our customers and how to meet them. Was promised my order within 3 weeks

Was promised my order within 3 weeks. Its now been a month and still no sign of a basic divan base. Crawley shop never answers their phone, even though all the times that I've been inside the shop there is a grand total of 0 customers inside. utterly ridiculous service and I won't ever shop with you again.

Cannot praise this company enough!

Cannot praise this company enough!
I bought a king size storage divan for my daughter and she is over the moon with it. The quality and value for money is excellent.
Customer service from Tessa was first class as was the delivery which also included assembly and disposal of an old bed.
I will definitely use Hamseys in the future and will thoroughly recommend them to anyone.

Both my partner and I are keyworkers

Both my partner and I are keyworkers. We bought this mattress for £600 in June 2020 and was advised to buy the mattress to support both our on going back problems. We did this in good faith.
I have spoken to the store on two occasions, firstly online and secondly on the phone. The problem is the mattress, which was meant to be firm, is sagging and dips causing us further back pain. We were told initally to contact the company after lockdown, which is understandable but also not very helpful when you can't sleep and have to be up each day to support covid recovery.
Finally, when the shop opened, we contacted the Beckenham branch who said we should wait 3 weeks and see how it goes.
It's gone exactly the same... I asked them for the head office number as I wasn't satisfied to wait 3 weeks and then my year guarantee was at risk. He said there is no head office just another branch. He also said that contacting them would make the matter worse! How does that work?? I'm so frustrated. All I wanted was for someone to come and see how bad the mattress is and to offer a replacement as £600 is a lot money. All i want is for someone to help us with this and to be reasonable about the cost of this and the product that has not lived up to reasonable expectations. I am ready to call up against 3 weeks have passed but I have also lost faith that I will be dealt with fairly and reasonably after what has been a terribly stressful year.

Best mattress ever

I have a bad back, never slept through the night and thought perhaps it’s the mattress. Went to Hamsey’s Leatherhead, Mike spent an hour helping me select the right one & I’ve slept like a baby ever since. This is the best mattress I’ve ever had & Mike was so helpful that I’ve recommended friends.

Don't expect communication or your goods.

Made a purchase online for a chest of drawers on 10th Apr, asked for a update via email but nobody got back to me..when I called I was told that they would receive stock around 27th May and would then look to deliver some time after that. This is absolutely ridiculous, if your lead times are that long or there are supply chain issues (there may be due to covid) this is understandable but that does not stop you COMMUNICATING that to customers or keeping them informed of the situation. You cannot just take money from customers and not supply goods!! It's not rocket science. I have called Customer services for a full refund today and spoke to Russell, let's hope it doesn't take too long!

Waiting over 4 months for delivery

I have been waiting over 4 months for a delivery of my bed and nobody at Hamseys actually seems to really care. The lead time even with COVID was 2-4 weeks. The first bed delivered to them from supplier was the wrong type and do couldn't be sent out at just over 2 weeks from ordering. I was told I'd wait 8-10 weeks until they had the type I had ordered. I agreed begrudgingly. On delivery the next occasion they delivered most of my bed, but the foot end in the wrong colour. So yet again I'm still without my bed. In compensation they've offered me some 'pillows'. Quite frankly I've lost all hope and faith in this company. I was recommended them and frankly would only recommend to avoid them. If I don't chase, nothing materialises. The foot end I was told would be in last week after Easter and I've heard nothing without chasing further. Whilst they have been polite in my dealings I'm appalled with the customer service. At a time where I thought putting my money in a UK owned small business was more ideal, I'd have rather put it to a large firm that can deliver on their promises. First and last time I shall ever use them. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Ordered from Hamseys online and had my new Ottoman base and mattress delivered at the weekend. Arrived on time and great communication throughout. Delivery guys were great and called to let me know they were on their way. Mattress is so comfortable and am finally enjoying some good nights sleep. Thank you Hamseys for a great service during these difficult times, would definitely recommend.

Worst conning company I have ever dealt…

Worst conning company I have ever dealt with do not buy there 100 night sleep they will do all they can to get out of it We paid £360 for a mattress early November 2 weeks later we knew it was no good for us was waking up in agony as was to firm spoke to them they told us to wait as springs will soften over time which we did we then contact them coming up to the 99 days and said still no different im having to sleep on sofa as my back is so bad when I sleep in the bed. He tried to talk me out of it saying you sure its the mattress its not that firm to which I told him yes as its only when I sleep in my bed if I sleep in my daughter bed I'm fine and I'm fine when I'm on sofa. So he then said wait till shops open be better as we can only change once I told him I can not wait and I wanted to change mattress and told him the one I wanted which was £140 more as we paid £360 for our one and this one was £500 he said you understand you have to pay the £140 odd different which I told him I know. He then said we have to send this off to head office to be agreed we then never heard anything we had to call back over 4 weeks later to be told they will change it but they have charged us £275 odd when it was only £140 more than what we paid for ours to top it off they delivered the mattress they have taken to much money for and it looks second hand with stains on it place is a complete rip off I am a carer and have not slept properly since November and we are a vulnerable household and having the stress of this is not helpful please do not buy from this company they are scammy people and to give someone a used mattress when covid is so dangerous especially to my household is disgusting will be contacting trading standards and watch dog as this company is a disgrace
reply to your message no we did not get a £1000 mattress for £500 you took £635 from us in total instead of the £500 the mattress is!! Also you delivered us a second hand mattress with stains on it and hair i do not call that a bargain for £635 would you a used dirty mattress and you clearly pick up the 100 night mattress and then give them to other buyers as you took mine away and delivered a dirty one your delivery men slipped it out of a open bag and put my one in bag disgusting company me and my husband have had to sleep on the sofa as we are a vulnerable household and don't know who been sleeping on the mattress

Not recommended

Not recommended. Notably disappointing customer after-sales service offered by this company. Ordered oak double bed which went into storage immediately on delivery, still fully boxed. On opening, all timber slats and fixing bolts found to be missing. Only token help offered together with repeated reminders that all items must be checked within 3 days of delivery, or Hamseys cannot be held responsible; 6 weeks of repeated calls and emails finally yielded wrong slats and wrong bolts. Never again.

No instructions. Unclear assembly

I ordered a divan bed which came quite quickly. I like the bed but due to covid hamseys are offering no assembly service, which is understandable. What I don’t understand is why they dont then give any instructions to help put it together. I found lots of unnecessary screw holes in the base of the divan which made assembly confusing. Also to open the divan you have to literally unpick staples to get these rags of fabric off and bags of screws are again stapled to the inside of the divan. I just found some elements regarding assembly were poor. Also when it was delivered the bases were put the wrong way around meaning we put screws through the unnecessary holes and fabric on the wrong side. Not clear and messy. Would not use again.

I just phoned the help number and man was not very nice and completely unhelpful. Reply below also states that instructions were given but man on phone says instructions are never given so contradiction there. Also if it just clipped on as reply states I would not be leaving this review. WORST Customer service I have ever received!

Great hassle free service and value

Ordered our bed online with no complications, received an email with expected due date the next day. Was contacted when bed was ready (within the dates stated) to arrange delivery day. Driver called morning of delivery to check all ok, bed was delivered on time.
Great service all round, staff were professional and friendly. Absolutely love my new king size divan set, very comfortable, and all at a great price...thank you!

Wrong Mattress Delivered

They supplied the wrong mattress, wrong size and type, and four weeks later we are still waiting for the mattress we ordered (or a superior one) to be delivered.

Excellent bed company

So glad I went through Hamsey’s as was looking around for a reliable bed delivery in a timely manner I checked website saw what I wanted and call up to just check for delivery times Lee was most helpful and even took my order on phone paid and sorted within minutes. Good communication all the way to delivery, my house mates was so impressed with bed they ordered one too.

Don't trust them with your data

Order experience was ok, but they have spammed me with emails and text messages for literally years after, despite requests to stop and delete my data. Can't trust them.

Avoid

I bought a bed frame and mattress in 2017. When the bed frame came there were items missing to put it together. The store was contacted no response. We emailed no response. The bed was put together but has been falling apart ever since and has been held by DIY pieces of wood. There is no customer service once they have your money they are finished with you and you are on your own. Even promised a longer guarantee but couldn’t even get a response at all from anyone. Don’t waste your money way better experience with wayfair.

Scott in New Malden is a lifesaver

Scott in New Malden is a lifesaver! He was amazing from start to finish.
I was let down by another mattress company and he was able to turn things round for me overnight. Even when some of the mattresses couldn’t fit up the stairs, he said no problem, sent me some rolled up mattresses instead.
I highly recommend this company!
