I recently sold my father’s motorbike, which had been sitting in our garage for years, unsure of how to go about selling it. Mike Davis at H & H kindly visited us to see the bike he was professional,... See more

I feel like I was SCAMMED !!
I sold two vehicles with H&H & I was out of the country when the sale happened, the first car a 1967 Porsche 912 sold for the amount I wanted but the new owner started contacting me about lost boxes that was supposed to be with the car, they managed to lose some.
I had a incompetent salesman of Lucas that accused me of not collecting my second vehicle after it didn't sell at the same auction, knowing I had arranged them to keep the vehicle to sell as I wasn't in the country ! This ended up a big issue & costs started occurring.
The second vehicle was 1960 VW Splitscreen Camper 2.5 years of full restoration, it failed to sell in 2 auctions so I agreed to sell without a reserve, What I can only describe I FEEL I WAS SCAMMED, I ended up with 13000 pounds & now my van in on Ebay for 28000 pounds !!! THATS A VERY BIG DIFFERENCE. It feels like there was an insider scam going on, How many fully restored VW Splitscreen sell for that amount.

Thank you Ian and the team at H&H
We had a truly great experience working with Ian from H & H during a sad time as we were selling our dad’s much loved motorbikes. The advice / service / paperwork and auction were extremely professional and made the process enjoyable; something we hadn’t expected. We received our funds extremely quickly and are grateful for all the support.

Couldn't thank Mike and his team enough for helping to find a new home for my late father's Norton. Having never sent anything to auction before I hadn't known what to expect but Mike took the time to listen, take photos and share his passion and everything went so smoothly. He even recommended a trusted motorcycle transport specialist (movingmotorcycles.co.uk), so I didn't have to spend time trying to locate and worry about it after it was picked up. We can now look forward to perhaps spotting it on the road again soon. Thank you once again.

My experience with H&H Classics has been exemplary. Mike Davis who visited, photographed and valued the bikes was kind thoughtful and honest in his appraisal. I experienced some difficulties accessing the website, but with help from your receptionist I was able to watch the auction.
I won’t hesitate to recommend your company.
Kind regards

Unprofessional and incompetent
Unprofessional and incompetent is the only way I can describe H and H Classics. They contacted me through a classified add to sell my Classic car through their auctions. My car was sold to a collector who lived abroad, along with 17 other vehicles. H & H were so excited to take bids from an overseas collector, they forgot to get him to sign the purchase contract forms. This collector won over £500,000 worth of cars and despite his promises to pay, he never did. My contract is with the purchaser so I can pursue him, unfortunately, I do not have a case as H & H didn’t get the contract signed and I have no recourse. The car sold in a subsequent sale but for much less than the original sale and I’ll be seeking redress.
good communication
good communication , organisation and upfront expectations explained.
Don't be swayed by flashy brochures and marketing. The reality can be very different and disappointing.
Be aware that once you sign the contract and turn it in, you are trapped, and everything becomes subject to their terms and conditions. Mike Davis, who was initially very friendly and convincing, knew how to get business in. He "promised on the strength of his reputation" that the motorcycles "will" be sold at the reserved price.
After signing the contract, I experienced a lack of professionalism, integrity, and customer service; messages were not returned, phone calls were not returned, emails were not acknowledged, and the tone of voice changed, among other things. With assertiveness and short answers, previous "promises" had vanished.
Mike Davis estimated my two classic motorcycles, and the reserve prices were nearly half of what they were on the auction day. He apparently "tried" to sell them after the auction the next day, but it was a huge "hit and miss"; one minute the buyer is interested, and the next call he says they are not. Very provocative, and the effort felt disingenuous. Mike Davies seemed to be playing me. It was all about the quantity of bikes on display, with little personal service, considering how much money this ordeal cost me.
Following the failed auction, five members of the H&H team called me with varying information. Trying to grasp the outcome was a complete mess. Getting contradictory messages and phone calls from H&H was a nightmare.
H&H has a deal with the most expensive motorbike delivery service in the country, "MOVING MOTORCYCLES." They have 'authority' to hold your motorbike without first discussing it with me, and I had to pay them extortionate delivery fees of £672.00, which I was quoted elsewhere for half the price! H&H did not allow me to organise the redelivery myself. They appear to have just wanted to get rid of the motorcycles as soon as possible after the auction, with no responsibility taken.
Overall, I have lost over £1,300 with this company, and the motorcycles have not been sold. The situation was extremely upsetting, and it was all due to Mike Davis's false "promises." They also managed to publicise my personal information at the auction without consulting with me.
Personally, I would avoid ‘sweet' consignment invitations from H&H and Mike Davis. Because of their irresponsible service, this experience has been extremely disappointing and stressful.

Great service from beginning to end.
Great service from beginning to end. Spoke to Damian Jones first, very professional and helpful. He explained the process clearly. He inspected my classic car and valued it fairly. He took numerous photos and described the vehicle accurately for the catalogue. Dropped it off at Buxton for viewing and it sold on the day for over the estimate.
