The check in and check out was really good, the staff is amazingly nice and kind.

Even though the van I rented was a little older, it never gave me any mechanical trouble and remained a trustworthy companion for my 50 days of traveling New Zealand. Response from the helpdesk was always quick and helpful. And when my van needed new tires, the replacement was done locally and within a day.

Camper van was great but the initial reception at pick up was very impersonal and disorganised waiting ages to get the van that was pre booked a day or two before arrival. The gas bottle had to be refilled 2 days in to trip and that was a mission as hardly any refill places .. Holly was awesome helping.

It was all OK. But it was not very well appointed. We had square pillow cases for the rectangular pillows. There was no top sheet. The doona was very thin and we were freezing. The pillows were cheapos. Luckily we brought our our own. The outdoor chairs were the cheapest possible. In fact everything felt like it was the cheapest possible. It said in the booking it had a two burner gas stove, but we got a single portable burner with one canister, which quickly ran out. The inside roof lining was pretty grotty. But it ran well and got us to were we needed to go. All the electrics worked and it felt solid. The staff were fantastic and went out of their way to help out even though they were insanely busy, and looked short staffed. Shout out to the Christchurch crew.

We can highly recommend Happy Campers, as well as Eurocampers, through whom we booked our Stargazer van. Compared to other rental companies, it was very good value for money, and our camper van was very clean and met all our expectations during our three weeks driving from South to North Island at New Zealand.
Suggestions for improvements and tips for the future include: we booked a Stargazer that was supposed to have access to a skylight, but we did not receive one, so the description needs to clarify that not all vehicles may have it. Only one of the two stovetops worked, more storage solutions are necessary and recommended to be installed, and more time for the handover and demonstrating how everything in the van works would be appreciated.

Good to be able to chat before hand with a real person to discuss what I wanted. They found me a good vehicle that was clean and did the job it needed to. [OK next time I might bring my own bedding] Check in and Return were very well managed. They are very will situation viz a viz airport.
And, best of all, the van was pretty anonymous - as those who have toured in a Mr Juicy or similar might appreciate!

The camper van was very old, the sink was clogged and the fridge beeping at night. Also the smoke detector was beeping and the door of the gas tank didn’t close properly.
We asked for help, communication was very slow. As we finally got help, the mechanic treated us as fools, and cause to another accident didn’t solve our problems.

Reliable vehicle and staff at both ends of the journey helpful and efficient. The flexibility provided enabled a great opportunity to visit some remote places and golf courses of New Zealand. Was happy knowing that the transfer was mutually beneficial and if I needed any additional time on the road this was an economically viable option.

Too easy.
The sleeper station wagons had high ceilings.
The tyres were in very good condition.
No breakdowns...

Everything ok. The only point is that the van was rather old, I guess 15 year and more than 400.000 km . That's quite a lot for a normal fuel engine.

The droppin for the car was very fast and the drop off too.
It's so bad that the campervan's sink had a leak at the begining of our trip so we had to improvise to stop it.

We also have a bad smell of cat pee on the matress.

Great little campers ,really enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

Don’t expect too much… Given the very competitive price, the van obviously has very high mileage. When you have issues, the rental company is very responsive. We had to switch vans after 5 days due to various warning lights. The second van also had warning lights, but it held up for the remaining 25 days. The van key broke in the lock. They seemed used to it, as they had five spare keys for our van. Finally, you won’t find HappyCampers on Google anymore. You have to search for Lucky Rentals.

We had a great time travelling by campervan. Happy Campers made our trip problem free with a quality camper.

First of all you are one of the best priced companys.I loved the fact that there was no advertisment sticker on the car and I loved that it was a well used car!your staff was very friendly picking up and dropping off the van.also any questions I had via email it got answerd ASAP. I loved the experience with the simplest van you offer...it had erverything I needed.so thank you!

Not the car I booked. The one I booked was apparently not available but not communicated with me. Also when it says there is everything you need for cooking apparently that didn’t include a pan or a pot! Had to buy this myself and donated at the end of the trip. Over priced for something not self contained.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. We hired a Toyota campervan which was prepared ready and waiting when we arrived. The vehicle went very well, was economical, and suited us fine. Very satisfied.
